National Puzzle month continues! Our next puzzle is from Peter Pauper Press. You might remember our mention of Peter Pauper Press in our 2025 Holiday Gift Guides. We included their scratch art books in our Arts and Crafts gift guide and our Nostalgia gift guide.
Peter Pauper Press, in addition to their many craft activities, makes beautiful jigsaw puzzles. All of their puzzles are bright and colorful and full of details. The box includes the puzzle pieces and a full-color poster of the image to work from. Matching book sizes and colors was surprisingly challenging, but in a fun way.
The Wonderful Bookshop puzzle is the perfect illustration of the bookstore I want to live in. Shelves and shelves of books, a cozy sitting area with a dog and cats for cuddling, and you can see through the door that the bookshop is on a plaza, which I’m convinced has a tea shop for reading breaks. The puzzle pieces are satisfyingly thick, slightly larger, and click together just the way you want. They have a linen-like texture, too, which makes them comfortable to work with – less glare and less slippery than gloss pieces.
Peter Pauper Press’s The Wonderful Bookshop was illustrated by Eduard/Artbeat. The completed puzzle is 500 1.25” x 1” pieces and is about 25” x 18”. Time-wise, it took just under 2 hours with two of us working together. There is no age range for this puzzle, but there is a 3+ warning, because of the puzzle piece size. We’ll see you next week for our final National Puzzle Month review.
