What an incredible movie! A must own, something for everyone’s home library, a dark comedy about marital collapse, with two powerhouse actors who have great chemistry:
Life seems easy for picture-perfect couple Ivy (Olivia Colman) and Theo (Benedict Cumberbatch): successful careers, a loving marriage, great kids. But beneath the façade of their supposed ideal life, a storm is brewing – as Theo’s career nosedives while Ivy’s own ambitions take off, a tinderbox of fierce competition and hidden resentment ignites. The Roses is a reimagining of the 1989 classic film The War of the Roses, based on the novel by Warren Adler.

I absolutely love Olivia Coleman. As a watcher of British TV, I have seen her in may shows prior to her breakout in Broadchurch. She is uniquely talented, and I adore her on the chat shows, and her acceptance speeches, a very humble woman.! And Benedict! Have you seen the TV show Sherlock? He is brilliant in that and everything he does. Thes two were made to act together, they are hilarious as husband and wife! And the rest of the cast are some of my all-time favorites, Kate McKinnon, Ncuti Gatwa (Sex Education and Doctor Who!), and Allison Janney! And Sunita Mani from Glow!
