Cross on Amazon Prime Video Season Two Update!
Chatting with the huge cast of Cross on Prime at the recent NY ComicCon was amazing, here are some facts:
Season Two of the hit crime thriller series, Cross, starring and executive produced by Aldis Hodge. Produced by Amazon MGM Studios and Paramount Television Studios, the eight-episode second season will debut exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories on Wednesday, February 11, with the first three episodes and new episodes each week leading up to the season finale on March 18.
Cross is a complex, twisted, pulse-pounding thriller created by executive producer, showrunner, and writer Ben Watkins, based upon the characters from James Patterson’s best-selling Alex Cross book series. The Washington, D.C. crime drama follows Alex Cross (Aldis Hodge), a brilliant homicide detective and forensic psychologist, uniquely capable of digging into the minds of murderers in order to identify and catch them. In Season Two, Cross is in pursuit of a ruthless vigilante who is hunting down corrupt billionaire magnates.
Season Two brings new cast additions Matthew Lillard, Jeanine Mason and Wes Chatham joining the Cross universe as well as returning stars Isaiah Mustafa, Alona Tal, Samantha Walkes, Juanita Jennings, Caleb Elijah, Melody Hurd, and Johnny Ray Gill.
And I got celeb photos with everyone! You know I have my own hashtag, #CelebrityAdjacent!
The first season was a tough one. This is a dark police drama, gripping throughout. And season two may prove to be even darker.
The best part of the interviews was watching the banter between the two stars, Aldis Hodge and Isaiah Mustafa!
Aldis was a great interviewee! He was thrilled to be back filming, loving the response to season one, and said the season two scripts are great. Way to get us psyched for season two! He shared that he and Isaiah felt like co-captains of the team, which was a great description of their relationship. He said their relationship on screen reflects their real-life relationship/friendship, which explains their seamless relationship on screen.
Isaiah mentioned how working on and finishing season one was such a great high, the only hope is that you can continue on that level. The cast agreed this is what we have to look forward to!
Alona Tal plays Kayla Craig. Based on the male character from the books, Kyle Craig, it was explained that they dd not want to follow the books one for one, making slight changes to shake things up along the way. Will tis shake-up prove to us that Kayla is now the Mastermind!
Ans returning cast member Samantha Walkes and I had a wonderful conversation while taking our selfie, what a sweet woman!
Creator, showrunner, and writer of the tv show, Ben Watkins, explained to us how there was a core cast, and that the seasons were set up to have a partial new cast every season. And this year, the new cast was with us to chat as well as the returning folks!
Iin season two, Wes Chatham plays Donnie. He described getting this role as going from watching the Lakers basketball team, to getting to play with the Lakers! I have been waiting years to meet Wes, star of the Syfy channel show, The Expanse, as his wife Jenn and I were Best Buy Ambassadors together! he did say there was talk of continuing more of The Expanse as well, but back to Cross!
Alona Tal plays Kayla Craig. Based on the male character from the books, Kyle Craig, it was explained that they dd not want to follow the books one for one, making slight changes to shake things up along the way. Will tis shake-up prove to us that Kayla is now the Mastermind!
Lastly, Matthew Willard (from the live action Scooby Doo!), may or may not be this season’s villain! Is he trying to be good by doing bad? Stay tuned!
Now see me with my new friends, except I have met Isaiah five times in my blogging career, starting with his original Old Spice campaign, which they have reintroduced, and got a mention in season one!!
