Agatha Christie Collection from Laurence King Publications!
Contemplating your holiday gift list? Laurence King Publishing has three beautiful new publications that all revolve around the brilliant mystery novelist Agatha Christie. There are a puzzle book, a set of trivia cards, and a jigsaw puzzle. Each is beautifully illustrated by Ilya Milstein in a style reminiscent of Agatha’s Art Nouveau world.
The Official Agatha Christie Puzzle Book is a paperback book, about the size of a hardcover book and includes 100 puzzles based on nine Agatha Christie novels: The Mysterious Affair at Styles; The Murder at the Vicarage; 4:50 from Paddington; A Murder is Announced; The ABC Murders; Dead Man’s Folly; Death on the Nile; The Body in the Library; Murder on the Orient Express. These are all Miss Marple and Hercule Poirot mysteries, her two most popular characters (I have a particular fondness for Tommy & Tuppence). I solved the first book’s puzzles on a flight and decided there and then to go back and read each book before solving the puzzles. I’m on The Murder at the Vicarage now and can’t wait to solve those puzzles!

TOP TIP: The Official Agatha Christie Puzzle Book accompanied by each of the ten novels would be a fun gift for any reader, especially new mystery readers. What better introduction to the world of the cozy mystery!
TOP TIP: The Official Agatha Christie Puzzle Book is a great gift for a traveler. It fits easily in personal bags and the puzzles are a great way to pass the time.
Agatha Christe Trivia is a set of 300 trivia questions, based on 10 categories, each on a beautiful card illustrated by Ilya Milstein. The 10 trivia categories are: Hercule Poirot; Miss Marple; Tommy and Tuppence; Characters & Cases; Locations & Settings; Novels & Stories; Stage & Screen; Quotes; Murder Methods; and Agatha Christie’s Life.
There are three multiple choice answers on the back of each card, directly below the question. The illustrations are well-matched to the subjects. My favorite is the design for the Locations & Settings card, which is a representation of Hercule Poirot’s residence Whitehaven Mansions (filmed at the gorgeous Art Deco Florin Court in London).
There are three sets of 100 cards, each of a different level of difficulty, which are noted on the cards with a diamond. One diamond is for “amateur detectives”; two diamonds is for “seasoned investigators”; and three diamonds is for “super sleuths.” How you play is up to you. You can play by category, level of difficulty, or a random mix of cards. You can play alone (be careful to flip be card with your thumb across the bottom of the card, because that’s where the answer is); or play with multiple players, and you can adjust the level of difficulty by choosing whether or not to reveal the multiple choice answers.
The box is itself a piece of art that will add a touch of glamour to your book or game shelves. It’s designed to look like a train car with different characters at each window.

The World of Miss Marple jigsaw puzzle is not just of a beautiful Ilya Milstein illustration; it’s also a puzzle to solve with more than 60 clues. Once you’ve put the puzzle together, you can use the guide to find the 68 symbols hidden within the puzzle. The guide includes a poster of the picture on one side and on the other is an article about the puzzle, with descriptions of the various hidden clues, plus the solution, so be careful to avert your eyes when you open the guide.
There two more Agatha Christie puzzles in the series, too: The World of Hercule Poirot, so you can choose your favorite character; and The World of Agatha Christie.

TOP TIP: All three puzzles would make a great family gift. Solving jigsaws together is a fun way to spend time together and even younger children can have fun finding the hidden clues once the jigsaw puzzle has been completed.
TOP TIP: Keep your eyes down towards the bottom of the guide to find the list of hidden clues and you can avoid spotting the answers on the answer guide.
