THE LITTLE MERMAID Premieres Exclusively in Theaters May 26th!

Where does one start? I never saw this movie as a kid, I only viewed it after a Walt Disney World junket where I had to interview the mermaid herself and was confused. Since then, I have seen the original many times, and have fallen in love with Alan Menken’s music.

Also, I first saw Halle Bailey in Freeform’s “Grownish” and immediately feel in love with her and her sister. When she was cast in this role, I rejoiced, and was so excited for this movie preview!

She was amazing, her voice is beautiful, and she played Ariel perfectly. I fell in love with her and Prince Eric as they also were falling in love. I will forever repeat this, Ariel is a Princess, Halle Bailey is a Queen! I cannot wait to see this movie again, to re-live their love story, to hear Halle’s beautiful voice, and Awkwafina!

The cast was amazing as well! I always tell people that the role of Ursula was created after my grandmother who looks exactly like the movie Ursula, from the hair, to the extra large size, to the tank top! And a bit of the attitude. Melissa McCarthy was excellent in this role! And I love Awkwafina, so was thrilled to hear her in this as well, she was hilarious as Scuttle. She is always brilliant!

Daveed Diggs as Sebastian was also a scene stealer. Lastly, this was a wonderfully diverse movie, as I believe all movies should be these days, but then again, I am a woke liberal!
