The Mysterious Benedict Society!
Disney Plus original programming is fantastic, as is The Mysterious Benedict Society, and new episodes are almost here:
The Mysterious Benedict Society is an American mystery adventure television series based on the children’s books by Trenton Lee Stewart. The series stars Tony Hale as Mr. Benedict, who gathers four children to stop a global emergency. Hale also portrays Benedict’s twin brother, Mr. Curtain, who is the founder of the school the children infiltrate. The series premiered on Disney+ earlier this year. The second season will premiere with two episodes on October 26, 2022, and I got to speak with many of the cast members in some of my favorites interviews, they were also so wonderful!
This season, Reynie, Sticky, Kate and Constance, the four gifted orphans who were recruited by the eccentric Mr. Benedict, embark on another mission to save the world from the nefarious plans of his twin brother Dr. L.D. Curtain. When the kids discover that Mr. Benedict and Number Two have been kidnapped, they must piece together the riddles and clues within a perilous scavenger hunt set by Mr. Benedict to foil Curtain’s latest scheme. Relying on only their wits, intellect, and empathy, the charming group of misfits embark on a globe-trotting adventure by air, land, sea and pie truck, calling upon their special skills to solve the mysteries and rescue their lost comrades. Along the way, the kids experience the growing pains that come along with being part of their new “found family,” while remaining true to their unique selves. In the process, they discover what true happiness really means.
First up were the adults in the cast, and one of my favorite parts of interviewing stars, the celeb photos:
We chatted for a few minutes with these veterans of the acting industry. We asked about working with the kids. They shared that they developed a real rapport with the kids in the cast and were happy to guide them along the way on how to deal with this industry to help them settle in and navigate this world. Kristen shared that this is a different kind of role for her, and of course she plays it with her special nuances, and it is always great to watch. Tony is the good and bad guy, he plays twins, and we get to see his talent showcased by his acting in opposite roles on the same show.
And then we chatted with the kids! We learned how their confidence has grown from when they started working on season one, to working on this current season. We chatted about how their age requires schooling on set and acting breaks throughout the day. All of the kids were very cool and seem to be handling this junket process really well. They may have mentioned the spooky feeling of filming season two aboard the Queen May 2 which is supposedly haunted! The kids talked about learning to get their timing right, how the process has helped them to get out of their comfort zones, and that they can relax and have some fun!
One of my favorite parts of the show, probably because I am a parent and a nerd, is seeing young people playing the role of highly intelligent kids, using their smarts for good! Something many of us want for our own children.
We also spoke to Phil and Matt, co-creators and executive producers of the show. Their experience before this was almost exclusively with movies, so filming an episodic show was new for them. They did share that filming for streaming, rather than a network show, is more freeing when you do not have to construct a story with commercial breaks in mind. Filming a streaming show is more like doing a movie. Filming on an ocean liner for season two was also a more interesting experience for everyone.
Season two will premiere with two episodes on October 26, 2022!

I wanted to inquire about viewing this, now that it has been removed from Disney Plus? My daughter thoroughly enjoyed reading them and she was looking forward to watching the adaptations as a special treat. However, we have recently learned that they have been removed from Disney Plus. I was wondering if you could kindly provide any information on where we might be able to find them now?
