THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER

I am a huge fan of all of the Thor movies. I even got to work on Thor: Dark World a few years ago, interviewing many of the cast, and walked the red carpet next to Thor! I mean Chris.

This movie is as expected, fantastic:

The film finds Thor (Chris Hemsworth) on a journey unlike anything he’s ever faced – a quest for inner peace. But his retirement is interrupted by a galactic killer known as Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale), who seeks the extinction of the gods. To combat the threat, Thor enlists the help of King Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), Korg (Taika Waititi) and ex-girlfriend Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), who – to Thor’s surprise – inexplicably wields his magical hammer, Mjolnir, as the Mighty Thor. Together, they embark upon a harrowing cosmic adventure to uncover the mystery of the God Butcher’s vengeance and stop him before it’s too late.

Taika Waititi directed this film, and he had also directed the film before, Thor: Ragnorak. I am a huge fan of his work, and I loved Ragnorak, I thought he created an incredible moving going experience, and his sense of humor is terrific!

This is now Taika’s second Thor movie, and it is even better! The beginning was so funny, I cannot wait to see the movie again! It was like a Marvel comedy movie, which may not make some purists happy, but too bad!

We start where we left off. Thor is with the Guardians of the Galaxy. What a motley crew, and as funny and dysfunctional as ever. Korg is our narrator (Korg is voiced by Taika) and is brilliant as always in his view of universal happenings.

There is a new bad guy in town, and he goes after the Asgardians living in Northern Europe, so old Thor and new Thor must intercede. The ensuing fight scenes are terrific, and that is all I can say without giving away any spoilers.

And there are two Easter Eggs. The first Easter Egg shows a familiar hero, and an actor that shocked me, I cannot wait for what comes next. The second Easter Egg also leaves this Marvel Universe open to almost everything! Go see Thor: Love and Thunder, it is fantastic!
