Everyone in my household loved the first Venom movie. I thought Tom Hardy was perfect in the role. We were excited to see a preview this week of Venom: Let There Be Carnage, and it did not disappoint!
Tom Hardy returns to the big screen as the lethal protector Venom, one of MARVEL’s greatest and most complex characters. Eddie Brock struggles to adjust to his new life as the host of the alien symbiote Venom, which grants him super-human abilities in order to be a lethal vigilante. Brock attempts to reignite his career by interviewing serial killer Cletus Kasady, who becomes the host of the symbiote Carnage and escapes prison after a failed execution.
Directed by Andy Serkis, the film also stars Michelle Williams, Naomie Harris and Woody Harrelson, in the role of the villain Cletus Kasady/Carnage.
Tom Hardy is perfect as Venom, just as I said after my review of the first movie. At the start of the movie we get to see the nuances of the relationship between Eddie Brock and the symbiote who lives within him. Their banter is hilarious, and then things take a serious turn, just like with any couple! Tom Hardy does an excellent job playing the two characters.
Woody Harrelson is the perfect bad guy, as always. The deranged murderer that is his character is played to a tee, as usual, Woody has come a long way from his character on Cheers. And f course a deranged bad guy has to have a crazy ex/current girlfriend, played by Naomie Harris.
This is not a long movie, but the action is continuous, I may have to see it again to absorb everything there was to see! And the Easter Egg will blow you away. All the problems in the Marvel Universe are being shown to us, one by one!
