Black Widow was action packed and had me gasping throughout. Scarlett Johansson commanded the screen, and it was fantastic. I do not read the comics, I am only a Marvel Universe fan from the movies and television, so you may already know this story.
This is the first movie in the next phase of the Marvel Universe. The teaser television shows have been fun, and now we are ready for the full story arc. The last time around that arc took ten years to complete, and it was brilliant. I look forward to more brilliance from these writers.
In Marvel Studios’ action-packed spy thriller “Black Widow,” Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow confronts the darker parts of her ledger when a dangerous conspiracy with ties to her past arises. Pursued by a force that will stop at nothing to bring her down, Natasha must deal with her history as a spy and the broken relationships left in her wake long before she became an Avenger.
We get the back story, and it is a tough one. Are the Avengers her family or is the family created by her handlers her family? You have to watch to find out if it is one, the other, both or neither. I was also thrilled to find out how the Widows came to be and what they were capable of. I hope we see more of them!

This was a women centric movie, and it was terrific, we need more of these. The men are secondary, except for her father figure and the evil genius that she thought she had already defeated. There is a lot of action, chase scenes, fighting, and general destruction. Today’s teen and up will thoroughly enjoy this one!
Scarlett Johansson reprises her role as Natasha/Black Widow, Florence Pugh stars as Yelena, David Harbour portrays Alexei/The Red Guardian, and Rachel Weisz is Melina. And here I am with co-star Florence Pugh!
Directed by Cate Shortland and produced by Kevin Feige, “Black Widow”—the first film in Phase Four of the Marvel Cinematic Universe— will launch simultaneously in theaters (buy your tickets on Fandango.com!) and on Disney+ with Premier Access in most Disney+ markets on July 9, 2021!
Here is the main trailer:
And one of the many chase scenes, suspenseful to the max:
