Ignore. Just my connection being slow…. my fun fact on the phone, when it was first invented, people used to just pick it up and not say anything. So both people would just be silent. So they decided they needed a word to mean you were there. Bell wanted ‘Ahoy’ but Hello was what took hold…and there you have it. (can also be seen in other languages like Japanese, where they have a different word for greeting on the phone to what they say in person)
