Five and a half months. No weight lifting, no Stairmaster, no working out. I did have a competition going with a mom friend, who could do the most steps in a day, and that helped to push me to walk all over the city during the pandemic/quarantine. And yes, I usually won!
You can see from my gut that I may have a few extra pandemic pounds. I got really scared and while everyone was buying toilet paper in the beginning of all of this (I was already stocked in case of the zombie apocalypse), I was stocking up on cookies. Turns out that was unwise!
And I am not a step counter, I do not have a fit bit, I just got lucky and found the Health App on my iPhone. My steps have been automatically recorded for me, forever!
This has been a huge help in keeping abreast of where I stand with exercise each day, and my desire to beat my friend every day kept me walking more than I otherwise would have! Thanks Ritu!
I missed my leg workouts,
And I really missed my weight workouts. My biceps were starting to turn upside down, and into marshmallows! I can’t afford that at age 61!
Here’s the lowdown on my newly reopened NYSC gym in NYC:
-Every other stair machine is blocked to ensure social distancing.
-The showers and saunas are closed.
-There are hand sanitizing stations every few feet.
-Your temperature is checked when you arrive.
-Capacity is at 33%.
-Full mask coverings are required.
Only the Elite NYSC gyms reopened. My home club is closed until it is brought up to pandemic code. I am not an Elite member, but I have that status until the end of the year when my other club becomes available.
I feel safe. I feel that the club is doing everything required to keep me safe. I work from home and go to the gym n the early afternoon, I do not know how crowded it may get, or if people are turned away for the after work crowd.
I am just happy to be working out again regularly!
Way to go,! have to check for an app also. I still don’t know how you do it with a mask., I get claustrophipic after I wear mine for a long time. I’ll stick with walking around our house and equipment we have. Keep up the great work. I have some of those pandamic pounds to get rid of too. I don’t know how that happened, I don’t remember eating all those snacks when I was nervous about not getting out of the house. 😁
Nice experienced as staying fit is really a good idea.
