The Big Bang Theory is one of my favorite TV series of all times. In fact, I already owned 11 of the 12 seasons when I received this fantastic full set of blu-rays!
You can never have enough. And I am the type to put these away for my grandchildren to enjoy someday, that is how fantastic a series I believe this to be!
I now have almost two complete sets of the entire series, and I still have my TIVO set for taping episodes from the TV. This is one of two shows that my spouse and II have used over the years to calm down enough to go to sleep at night. Higher praise for a show, I do not have! In fact, I have started watching the show form the very beginning and I love how brilliantly all of the relationships between the characters had been set up since the very beginning. The spark between Penny and Leonard was there from the very first few episodes. Sheldon’s idiosyncrasies show a genius of acting skills. The selective mutism of Raj is a brilliance never before seen in a comedy, and Howard Wolowitz really was a total jerk from day one. Although, the actor behind the character, Simon Helberg, is incredibly talented and it has been a thrill to watch his character evolve and his acting prowess become more apparent:
For years, fans have been delighted watching their favorite physicists Leonard (Johnny Galecki) and Sheldon (Jim Parsons) navigate the universe and everyday life along with Penny (Kaley Cuoco), and fellow scientists Howard (Simon Helberg), Raj (Kunal Nayyar), Amy (Mayim Bialik) and Bernadette (Melissa Rauch), as well as other beloved characters. Now that Sheldon has married neurobiologist Amy Farrah Fowler, he’ll have to make some serious adjustments to their “Relationship Agreement” in Season 12. Will their equation for marital bliss alter the chemistry between these two beautiful minds? Perhaps Leonard and Penny will provide the data as they experiment with variable in their own marriage. Meanwhile, Howard and Bernadette explore the principles of parenthood, and Raj considers a traditional arranged marriage. Quantum comedy converges in the twelfth dimension for the final season!
And they added a girlfriend for Howard, and a girlfriend for Sheldon! Both wonderful actresses, my favorite Bernadette moment is when she adopts the voice of Howard’s mother for the first time. And Mayim Bialik’s Amy Farah Fowler was brilliant from day one. The robotic way she played the role and the perfect way it matched Sheldon Cooper’s special kind of nuanced personality, was perfect acting. So much so, I wrote a post when the finale aired, which, was the perfect culmination to this 12 year series.
In its twelfth and final season, The Big Bang Theory garnered an average audience of nearly 18 million weekly viewers, cementing its status as the number one broadcast sitcom across all demographics* and the number one series on CBS among Total Viewers.
