Google Photos New Features Are Game Changing!
I recently attend an event where we explored Google Photo’s new features, and I was blown away by how much fun there was to be had, how easy sharing was between family and friends, and especially the ease of printing beautiful photos, right from my phone!
Memories Feature
Photos and videos from previous years will appear at the top of your gallery in this new feature! While you might recognize this stories format from social media, these memories are your personal media, privately presented to you so you can sit back and enjoy some of your best moments. And then share them with family and friends!
A digital version of a walk down memory lane of your private photos!
Google is using machine learning to curate what appears in Memories, so you don’t have to parse through many duplicate shots, and you can instead reflect on the best ones. You might not want to revisit all of your memories, so you’ll be able to hide certain people or time periods, and you have the option to turn this feature off entirely.
Also, when you’re looking back, you know exactly what photo you’re looking for and your search in Google Photos makes it easy to find specific photos (make sure you are tagging along the way!). If you want to find photos of your dad’s birthday you can just search his name and “birthday” to find all the relevant shots. You can also do this with text!
Now, you can decorate your home with your favorite memories with canvas prints from Google Photos —you can order canvas prints from Google Photos in the U.S., and they’ll be delivered straight to your home. Canvas prints start at $19.99 and come in three different sizes, 8×8, 11×14, and 16×20.
This new feature is quite timely with the holiday season quickly approaching! What do you get for the folks that have everything, or family members that are always clamoring for more photos of your kids? This is the perfect holiday gift! I want my parents to have many pictures of my son (their grandson) hanging on every piece of wall space in their house!
Available right now, you can order 4×6 photo prints directly from Google Photos and pick them up same day at CVS Pharmacy or Walmart, at over 11,000 locations with print centers across the U.S.
This is my favorite feature, perhaps my new addiction! I stopped printing out photos years ago, I just leave them on my computer and migrate them to a new PC every few years. I stopped adding to the photo albums of our son after a few years old. That ends now!
There are no Walmart’s in Manhattan, but I do have a CVS right across the street. I am trying not to print all day long and keep running back and forth for my new prints!
Google Photos is adding new features all the time. I love that I can easily share photos with my dad because we are connected through our gmail accounts. I loved the photo books I am able to create with Google photos, and now I can add canvas prints to my list of items to create and give as gifts! And of course, I cannot stop printing my favorite photos from my phone, something I have been wanting to do for years, and now it is so easy!
Disclosure: I received a gift for attending this event. All opinions are always 100% honest and our own.

I love the canvas prints. It’s amazing how much easier it is made going through photos by tagging and categorizing them. Snap snap snap away all those photos. Thanks for the info.
