Support Disaster Response Communications
N2NGO exists to connect families affected by natural disasters with their loved ones. By partnering with satellite communications companies, they bring mobile units to areas affected by disasters and provide survivors access to WiFi networks to send and receive messages.
They are currently fundraising to equip their first responder group with the necessary equipment to cover the USA. This equipment consists of a dedicated response vehicle that is small enough to access remote areas but large enough to house all our equipment and the team while on deployment.
THEIR VISION IS TO BE THE PEOPLE ON THE GROUND ALONGSIDE THE FIRST RESPONDERS, GIVING PEOPLE THE GIFT OF CONNECTIVITY AND COMMUNICATION WITH THEIR FAMILIES DURING A CRISIS:
Carlos Chiossone founded N2NGO after Hurricane Maria hit Puerto Rico. While living in NYC, he encountered dozens of people who were desperate to be able to speak to their loved ones. Because of the lack of cellular connectivity and electricity, people on the island were cut off from the rest of the world. Carlos, a licensed Amateur (ham) Radio operator, went to the roof of his NYC apartment building and was able to hear a KP4 station from Aguadillas, Puerto Rico. He began receiving messages from PR to pass to their families on the mainland. Carlos was able to connect 424 families in 10 days.
My friend since our kids were in Kindergarten together, Carlos is one of the founders! He has commitment to raising funds and has donated 100, 45-60 minute headshot/portrait photo sessions to raise funds. His regular rate of $250 for the first hour will be available to you for a $50 donation to the organization. You will be able to pick up to 3 images from the shoot for him to retouch for you. If you wish to have more than 3, each will be $25. All paid through the GoFundMe campaign. He will deliver the images to you via email in JPG or PNG format. He will also give you a 8×10 or similar size print of 1 image for you to take.
But imagine getting a shot by him for just $50? Use it for your LinkedIn or any other social media, your acting headshot, your portfolio, or a great gift to your mom or daughter.
Of course you need to be in NYC as all shoots will be at his studio near Union Square.
