Spider-Man: Far From Home Wins Again!
Spider-Man: Far From Home is excellent entertainment! Tom Holland is fantastic as Spider-Man, yet again. He has more than just revitalized the franchise, he has made it better than it ever was. While I enjoyed the very first movie decades ago, the rest of the Spider-Man films failed to hold my interest. Tom Holland brings a freshness and innocence that makes the role come alive better than it ever has before. Every time he is on screen, whether it be in the stand along movies, or the Avengers films, Tom shines. I look forward to following his career forever!
In Spider-Man™: Far From Home, Tom Holland returns as our friendly neighborhood Super Hero who, following the events of Avengers: Endgame, must step up to take on new threats in a world that has changed forever. The film expands the Spider-Man film universe, taking Peter Parker out of his comfort zone and his home in Queens, New York City, and hurling him across Europe during what was supposed to be a school vacation – but which becomes his greatest challenge and most epic adventure ever.
In the aftermath of a monumental battle between good and evil, which has brought Peter Parker and his friends – and billions of others – back to life, Peter continues to mourn the death of his mentor, Tony Stark / Iron Man, whose heroic sacrifice made Peter’s return possible. Everywhere he looks, Peter sees tributes to the fallen Avenger, which adds to his sense of loss, even as his own turbo-charged heroics leave everyone wondering if he’s the next Iron Man.
The movie opens with an explanation of the “Blip.” cause by Thanos. The folks that disappeared, reappeared five years later as if they had never been gone. Meanwhile, those that had remained behind, are five years older. Your younger brother might now be older than you!
Spidey and his friends are going to enjoy a super-hero free Summer in Europe, I wish I could go along! We are transported to Venice, in all its glory, and the scenery is gorgeous. Of course you can never hang up your super-hero costume, so poor Spidey has to work during his vacation! This is when we meet Jake Gyllenhall who plays Mysterio. They team up, and that is all I will tell you regrading the story. I will tell you that the story lines for all of Peter Parker’s friends have been expanded. Jacob Batalon and Zendaya are wonderful, and hilarious. I love how Marvel adds just the right amount of humor and comic relief to these movies, it works perfectly, and keeps the entertainment level high throughout the whole movie.
