What an honor it was to meet Melissa Rauch of “The Big Bang Theory” fame! We got to chat for a minute about my favorite moments with her character, what an engaging and wonderful lady she is, and how terrific it was to see her read to the kids and share information on tofu:
To help children and families eat healthier, House Foods partnered with Melissa Rauch to create The Tales of Tofu, a children’s book that aims to introduce kids to this less familiar but so good-for-you food. To download a digital copy of The Tales of Tofu, head to https://www.house-foods.com/.
To mark the launch of Tales of Tofu, House Foods is also supporting Action for Healthy Kids, a national nonprofit that shares the same goal of promoting healthy eating and works to improve the health and well-being of kids by mobilizing school professionals, families and communities to take actions that lead to healthier schools where kids thrive. House Foods support of Action for Healthy Kids includes a $2,000 donation to The Neighborhood School to help implement healthy school programing.
Melissa sat with the kids and read them the book, and then we all go tot taste some delicious items made with House Foods Tofu! I especially loved it as The Neighborhood School is down the block from me and we have had friends attend here!
Quote from Melissa Rauch:
“To help children and families get excited about tofu and eating healthier, I’ve partnered with House Foods to create The Tales of Tofu, a children’s book that aims to introduce kids to tofu, a less familiar but so good-for-you food. I love tofu, and House Foods is my favorite because it is made from 100% U.S.-grown, non-GMO soybeans. Additionally, much like the character “Tofu” in The Tales Of Tofu, I was super shy and would often hide in the background as a kid. Performing was always my way of expressing myself. This cute little cube of tofu will go through a similar journey, making friends and sharing awesome recipes along that way. Writing this book combines two things that I am incredibly passionate about: helping all kids receive the best nutrition possible and enriching children’s minds through reading. To download a free digital copy of The Tales of Tofu, head to https://www.house-foods.com/.”
House Foods tofu is made from 100% U.S.-grown, non-GMO soybeans and available in a range of textures from soft to super firm. The House Foods Organic Tofu varieties are made from certified U.S. Organic, non-GMO soybeans and available in additional formats such as cubed and cutlets. The Tales of Tofu – with Melissa’s recipes and images from the book, with key messages and more, is free and available on HouseFoods.com, and the recipes from the book can also be accessed on the site.
