I am a history buff, and that includes all things, not just real history! The idea of learning about the back story for every Star Wars character that I grew up with fascinates me, and I love that Disney has decided to fill in the gaps for me with these new movies! We cannot wait to see Solo!
Who is Han, where did he come from, and how did he become the rogue we first met years ago in the first Star Wars movie?
Board the Millennium Falcon and journey to a galaxy far, far away in “Solo: A Star Wars Story,” an all-new adventure with the most beloved scoundrel in the galaxy. Through a series of daring escapades deep within a dark and dangerous criminal underworld, Han Solo befriends his mighty future copilot Chewbacca and meets the notorious gambler Lando Calrissian, in a journey that will set the course of one of the Star Wars saga’s most unlikely heroes. The film stars Alden Ehrenreich, Woody Harrelson, Emilia Clarke, Donald Glover, Thandie Newton, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Joonas Suotamo, and Paul Bettany.
We are huge Donald Glover (Childish Gambino) fans in this house!
Ron Howard directs “Solo: A Star Wars Story,” and Kathleen Kennedy, Allison Shearmur and Simon Emanuel are the producers. Lawrence Kasdan, Jason McGatlin, Phil Lord and Christopher Miller serve as executive producers. Jonathan Kasdan & Lawrence Kasdan wrote the screenplay. “Solo: A Star Wars Story” opens in U.S. theaters on May 25, 2018.

Have you read the Han Solo trilogy by Brian Daley? They came out in the ’80s. How about Ann Crispin’s Han Solo trilogy, published in the ’90s?
I love everything Star Wars, but I feel like we know enough about this character, and we need more new stories, like we got with “Rogue One.” Also my love of Harrison Ford goes hand-in-hand with my Star Wars fandom, and I’m not sure I can take someone else playing him.
The only way I could approach this movie is to look at it as a fictionalized account about the real Han Solo and his friends. Maybe the story is true. Maybe it’s all made up, as Hollywood often does with historical characters.
I haven’t even decided if I’ll see it opening weekend. Part of me wants to see it on May 25th, the true Star Wars Day (the anniversary of the first film’s opening), but another part of me wants it to tank so maybe Disney will drop this concept and move on to original stories.

I can’t get used to the new Hans Solo, lol. He’s too young. Or am I too old. Thanks for posting!
