Disney’s reimagined “Muppet Babies” TV show premieres March 23rd!
In addition to our favorite Muppet babies and their teacher, Kermit the Frog, Piggy, Fozzie Bear, Gonzo, Animal and Miss Nanny, a new baby is being introduced, Baby Summer, a penguin!
And I met the show’s creator, Tom Warburton at the recent Disney Social Media Moms Celebration on the Disney Cruise! Tom is best known for creating the hit animated series “Codename: Kids Next Door.” His other television credits include “Doug,” “Schoolhouse Rock!,” and Disney’s “Pepper Ann,” “Fish Hooks” and “The 7D.”
You can tell from the first picture that Tim is quite excited about this new show. He chatted with us about the idea for bringing back the show and how it germinated into a green light for a new series. He also talked about the process of coming up with a new Muppet baby for the updated series, and how they arrived at a penguin for the new character:
I was thrilled to meet Tom in person and get an autographed copy of the Muppet babies poster! It is always a pleasure to meet someone who is enthusiastic about their work!
Disney Junior’s Muppet Babies reboot will debut on Friday, March 23 at 10 a.m. EDT. Like the original, the show will combine animation and other media such as live action, collage, and the use of classic cartoons when the young main characters begin to use their imagination.
Disclosure: I recently attended the Disney Social Media Moms Celebration where I received a discounted package for my land and sea vacation. All opinions are always 100% honest and our own. Photo credits to Alex, the Disney photographer on the trip!
