This weeks event at Chelsea Piers to introduce Ferrero’s Kinder Joy to America was fabulous! Confections everywhere!
Above you see the giant Kinder Joy Egg that was outside the event. I would have happily eaten my way through there!
The Kinder Joy Eggs literally arrived by boat as we were at the event:
I have loved Kinder confections for decades! While my spouse was in law school, we started to travel to Europe where I discovered this incredible brand. Now they are available all over America at most retailers:
The US is about to get a whole lot sweeter with the official arrival of the Kinder brand! Ferrero U.S.A, Inc., the company known for famous brands such as Ferrero Rocher®, Nutella® and Tic Tac®, is now launching Kinder Joy® – a unique treat made especially for kids with parents in mind.
It would have been nice if I could have taken this display home!
Kinder Joy is unique as it has a treat on one side, and a toy on the other:
The delicious Kinder Joy is an egg-shaped package with two separate halves so that your toy and your treat do not mix! The sweet half has a double treat made of two soft cream layers – one sweet milk-cream flavored and one cocoa flavored. Nestled into the creamy layers are two round, chocolate-covered wafer bites that are filled with sweet cocoa cream, so of course an adorable little spoon is included (so that you do not use your fingers, I may have done both!).
There is an exciting surprise toy in the other half, completely sealed off from the treat, so you can have fun with your kids by playing with the toy together! This whole package is a joy for everyone involved, and in two ways! There is a wide range of surprise toys developed by the Kinder expert team of designers to maximize play time for children ages three and up – from toys that encourage creativity to toys that teach kids about the world around them. Additionally, seasonal and special licensed toys will be made available throughout the year (while supplies last) to keep the surprises coming.
There was also a surprise celebrity guest at the event, Malin Akerman! I did not know that she was from Sweden and had grown up with Kinder chocolates, she was excited to be on hand to introduce her childhood favorite to America: “I’m looking forward to help welcome the Kinder brand to the US – now I can pass on these delicious treats to my son and see him experience the same genuine surprise and delight that I did every time he opens a Kinder Joy egg.” Yes, we posed and chatted about the Kinder Joy egg:
And then daddy Mitch had some fun. Like a kid in a candy store so to speak! I wanted there to be no mistake, this will be available all over America:
And I couldn’t leave without having some Snapchat fun:
These are the folks that make Ferrero Rocher and Nutella. That my work brought me together with one of my favorite food companies in the world was a dream come true!
And there is more fun to be had! As part of the experience, parents can access Magic Kinder, an edutainment app that offers a digital world of fun and education. These platforms are designed to help families play and learn together through a wide range of engaging games, videos, stories and activities. It is completely free and can be accessed through www.magic.kinder, the iOS and Android app stores or through the QR code that is printed on the information leaflet that accompanies the toys inside the Kinder Joy egg.
Kinder Joy will be sold nationwide at mass, grocery, drug and convenience stores just in time for the holidays with a MSRP of $1.59 USD per egg. Wait, what? These have been available here (Kansas) for years! All the ethnic markets have them. I’m still waiting for the real German Kinder überraschungseier to (legally) arrive so I don’t have to buy them from eBay and pay a premium.
Mitch says
The eggs form overseas do not meet US standards, the toy was with the sweet, that is deemed dangerous. Now they are separated so it is good to go for the US market!
Diana Elizabeth says
