To celebrate YouTube TV and the new Tuesday evening line-up on ABC TV, I was privileged to attend an vent where we got to see some new shows and some returning fan favorites1 And of course there were celebrities everywhere to chat with!
First up, the ground breaking show, black-ish. An incredibly well written comedy show that also deals with real life issues. I have been honored to meet Anthony Anderson, the star of the show, several times. This past Saturday I also go to meet Marcus Scribner who plays his son, Junior!
Next up, another favorite show, Fresh Off the Boat! I told Hudson Yang that we were not amused last season when his mantra on the show was 8th grade doesn’t count. My son is the same age as the character, and that was also the mantra of him and his friends. The show hits too close too home!
Do you watch The Middle? This year will be it’s ninth and final season. Of course I got to meet Brock Ciarlelli who plays Brad Bottig!
And then we saw full episodes of two new shows. The first was “The Mayor.”
In the new ABC TV show, young rapper Courtney Rose (Brandon Micheal Hall) runs for mayor of his hometown to generate buzz for his music career. Unfortunately for Courtney, his master plan goes wildly awry, ending in the most terrifying of outcomes: An election victory.
There was a panel discussion with the cast after we saw episode one, and I predict this will be the hot new show of the season! It was smart, entertaining, and well written. Episode One left me wanting more!
Lastly, we saw Kevin (Probably) Saves the World. Staring Jason Ritter, this is an interesting new show where the main character, Kevin, finds out he is the last righteous man and must anoint 35 others to keep our planet in balance. There is terrific humor in this show, and also a refreshing dose of spirituality. I cannot wait to see more, these two shows are already set for recording!
I am thrilled to have been invited to this event to celebrate the upcoming Tuesday night block of terrific shows on ABC TV, and to celebrate YouTube TV!
A lot of good shows
I bet you had a blast! I’m sad to see The Middle ending this year.
That must have been super fun. I have to admit that I haven’t really tried to watch very many shows this season. I should give them a chance.
I am interested in seeing the new shows that you mentioned. Both sound like they would be fun and entertaining to watch. I need some good comedies.
I’m so out of touch..i dont know any of those people..
I saw a preview for The Mayor and thought it looked hilarious.
