Yes, you read that correctly. We are planning our end of Summer trip for next year, and I am not going to pay a dime! Not a dime! It will all be for free!
I have written several articles about getting miles from credit cards for free travel. I have also written about credit cards where you get hotel points.
I put the $10,000 down payment for my son’s Bar Mitzvah party on a new Starwoods credit card. I received 25,000 bonus miles and another 10,000 miles for my first expenditure. The Swan and the Dolphin hotels are the only hotels on WDW property that are not Walt Disney owned, and they take Starwoods points. And FYI, due to recent mergers, Starwoods programs are not combined with the Marriott programs and Ritz Carlton programs.
We are hoping to stay for 10 nights for free at either the Swan or the Dolphin! And P.S., they give you all the free water bottles you can use, perfect for taking into the parks to save money!
I also pay several thousand dollar a year for my son to go to sleep-away camp for the Summer. He meets great kids, has wonderful activities all week long, and loves the country experience. My spouse and I both ordered new Delta Gold Amex cards, spent the minimum required (we had to pay for camp anyway, why not get a bonus from a credit card for it!) and received a total of 110,000 points. We are flying to Orlando for free!
Lastly, I have written before about how I have saved up every gift card I have ever received and purchased Disney gift cards at either Target or Walmart. These will pay for our park admissions, and we will have some left over for food!
I have also written about several Walt Disney World travel hacks, you can read about them here. And this trip cannot be totally free since we are staying at the Swan or Dolphin, we do not get free bus service to and from our hotel. A car service to the hotel and an Uber back to the airport mean we will have to spend about $100 for this trip!
that would be so nice to go cheaply,,id love to take my grandkids some day
I hope i get there one day..free is better though
Free is always better. especially when it comes to disney.
