I am excited to announce that I am headed back to walk the red carpet for the new Disney movie, Pete’s Dragon! I have had several previous experiences with these Disney movie trips and they have all been absolutely fabulous. From interviewing movie stars, to hanging out on TV sound stages, and lastly, to spending time with 25 other bloggers, my favorite type of people!
We will be previewing Queen of Katwe and Moana, and we will be working on the Blu-ray release of The Jungle Book. It will be a jam packed three days of very hard work, from interviewing Bryce Dallas Howard, to walking on the actual red carpet at a Disney movie Premiere, to seeing advance screenings of this Fall’s hottest movie releases. Like I said, hard work, that is also the best work there is!
Pete’s Dragon opens on August 12, 2016:
For years, old wood carver Mr. Meacham (Robert Redford) has delighted children in the sleepy town of Millhaven with his tales of the fi erce dragon that resides deep in the woods of the Pacifi c Northwest. To his daughter, Grace (Bryce Dallas Howard), who works as a forest ranger in these very woods, his stories are liƩ le more than tall tales…unƟ l she meets Pete (Oakes Fegley). Pete is a mysterious 10-year-old with no family and no home to speak of, who claims to live in the woods with a giant, green dragon named Elliot, and from his descripƟ ons, Elliot seems remarkably similar to the fabled dragon from Mr. Meacham’s stories.
We also get to preview Disney’s Queen of Katwe, opening September 23, 2016:
I am a huge fan of Lupita Nyong’o and cannot wait to see this movie!
“Queen of Katwe” is the colorful true story of a young girl selling corn on the streets of rural Uganda whose world rapidly changes when she is introduced to the game of chess, and, as a result of the support she receives from her family and community, is instilled with the confidence and determination she needs to pursue her dream of becoming an international chess champion.
The last movie we preview is Moana, which opens November 23:
From Walt Disney Animation Studios comes “Moana,” a sweeping, CG-animated feature film about an adventurous teenager who sails out on a daring mission to save her people. During her journey, Moana (voice of Auli‘i Cravalho) meets the once-mighty demigod Maui (voice of Dwayne Johnson), who guides her in her quest to become a master wayfinder. Together, they sail across the open ocean on an action-packed voyage, encountering enormous monsters and impossible odds, and along the way, Moana fulfills the ancient quest of her ancestors and discovers the one thing she’s always sought: her own identity.
Another Disney animated movie that I am going to love!
Lastly, we are going to be working on the Blu-ray release of The Jungle Book. I loved the movie when I saw it in the theater with my son, and I cannot wait to be able to share it with my spouse.
I wrote my review of The Jungle Book the week it was released, and thought it was highly entertaining, and more importantly an important movie to remind all of us how important the animals are in our world. I know I cannot wait to add it to my personal collection! I will be taking a sneak peek at some of the exciting bonus content featured on the Blu-ray and digital release of The Jungle Book which is available on Digital HD on 8/23 and Blu-ray on 8/30, and I cannot wait!
24 other bloggers and myself will be tweeting furiously all the fantastic information we will be hearing and seeing,. so follow all of us on twitter using these hashtags: #PetesDragonEvent, #QueenofKatwe, #Moana, #JungleBookBluRay!
Disclosure: Disney has invited me on this press trip and will pay all of my expenses. No other compensation will be received. All opinions are always 100% my own and honest.
