Peter and I planned our romantic weekend getaway for the middle of July, when we knew our son would be away at camp, and we would not have a care in the world! Do we look happy?
Mt. Airy Casino Resort is just under a two hour ride from New York City. It is a great getaway without having to travel for hours and hours. It is a new property, it is not the old Mt. Airy Lodge that we all grew up with, everyone I have spoken to remembers coming here as a kid for a fun ski weekend. I have to explain to them all that is a brand new property, and it has also been upgraded, while not even 10 years old!
We checked in to our spacious room with full bath:
And then saw the beautiful 18 hole golf course on the property. We could see it from our hotel room window, just across the idyllic lake that sits in front of the entrance way:
Yes, we woke to that beautiful view every morning!
As soon as we unpacked we joined the Mount Airy Casino Resort Player’s Club and each got $10 in free slot play just for signing up. There was also a special going on that Friday, we were able to add another $15 plus to that, just for the promotion running at the time, you just pick up a pull tab and can win between $15 and $1000 in additional free play! What a great way to start the weekend! This is why I always check every website to see what specials might be running, I have friends who missed out on this! And please remember smoking is legal in indoor casinos, so you might be surprised! There is however a non-smoking casino floor as well, something I have never seen in Las Vegas! We played in both!
The restaurants are all on the non-smoking side of the casino, and they have some big names places in residence! The food was so good that I wrote a separate article about it, Amazing Food Choices at Mount Airy Resort! We enjoyed the meals during our stay, I am still dreaming about some of that wonderful and delicious food!
A massage was included in this weekend package for me. It was a wonderful hour of pampering and luxury. So relaxing, and I had the option of the sauna and steam room afterwards. The Spa at Mt. Airy is huge, with many options. There is a hair dressing area for the many bridal parties that come through this resort, as there are some great rooms large enough to host weddings and other functions on the property. It makes for a great destination spot for a wedding or other formal (or informal) function for work or for play!
The pool area was also so terrific I had to do a separate pictorial on that: Mount Airy Resort Awesome Pool Pics! Another relaxing option, I splashed around for over an hour!
There are also weekly shows hosted at the resort! Timing was perfect as we got to catch the “Hunks” show. It was all I could do from running on stage and dancing myself, but my spouse and friends held me back! Other groups that appear here are the Four Tops, The Stylistics, and even Andrew Dice Clay! Top notch entertainment in the evenings, and also some shows during the day. Afterwards the pool is closed for swimming and the dance party starts up, with a DJ spinning the hottest tunes.
We had a blast and hope to return. I would come back and even bring my son, he would love the pool area and the buffet! There are plenty of activities in the area for you to enjoy, from wine tasting to outlet shopping. Check out the Mt. Airy Casino Resort website for all other information, specials, and packages! It looks like it’s a beautiful place to check out. I’m not really into golf or casinos, but I have a ton of friends that love that kind of stuff. I will have to tell them about this place!

My husband and I would LOVE to get away to the Mount Airy Casino Resort. Everything looks top notch, from the rooms, to the services, food, and of course the casino. Wish we were closer!

I’m not one for gambling but I could definitely get into a romantic getaway with my love to this absolutely beautiful location. The room, the Spa, the look and feel of the resort … how beautiful!

This looks like a wonderful resort. I haven’t been to the casino in a long time. It’s fun but it’s not something I do on a regular basis. I don’t like the smoke that usually comes with the territory. 🙂 but a non smoking section is perfect.

I remember hearing about the Mt Airy resort when I lived in NY. It looks beautiful and like a fun place to vacation!
It’s wonderful to see, what you’ve done with this property. I used to work at the old Mount Airy Lodge in the Seventies and wasn’t there since. But I would sure love to see the place and reminiscing on the good old days!
