You have to download the My Disney Experience app before you visit Walt Disney World! There are some tricks I have been learning to make our family experience even better, I feel like I learn new things with every new trip!
1. PHOTOS! We have decided that we will always buy the Memory Maker Disney Photo Pass. It is well worth the money. And the best kept secret is, those pictures are available through the app, sometimes minutes after they are taken! And the magic is usually visible as well!
Part of our adventure became taking the pictures and then reviewing them a short while later. For a blogger this means instant gratification as far as being able to post all over Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter, as soon as possible! And for non-bloggers, you can post the same, and send a picture of your son to your parents and in-laws like I did, by text, of the below! Cause if I posted this on Instagram for his friends to see, that would have put this dad in the dog-house! My full Memory Maker Photo Pass article is here.
2. DINING! We do not book sit down restaurants ahead of time as we never know where we are going to be. This does make it difficult to try the better food establishments, but that is how it works for our family. We were in Magic Kingdom and trying to get a table at the Liberty Tree Tavern, one of our favorite spots. There were no reservations available for the rest of the night. Then the nice lady at the reservations desk suggested that we go into the app and look for a reservation! She explained that sometimes the main system has more up to date information. We were able to get a table for a half hour later. We had a delicious family style dinner at one of our favorite table service restaurants thanks to this very helpful young lady, and we were able to see that there were last minute seating opportunities all over Walt Disney World! We could have gotten into Be Our Guest at one point for the next day, one of the hardest reservations to obtain at WDW! Now that we know how to find the most up to date information on open tables, we are set!
3. SHOPPING! You can buy merchandise right on the app. That could be dangerous!
4. WAIT TIMES are fairly up to date on the app. Have you ever been handed a red plastic card when you entered a queue and been asked to deliver to the person who then seats you on the ride? That is how Disney determines how long you have been waiting and they update their systems! My recent article on my Top Five New Attractions is here!
5. FAST PASSES can be booked or updated straight from the app on your phone. For you and your entire connected group! I absolutely love the convenience of this app!
And no, I do not look at wait times and open meal reservations when I am at home and should be working. I never day dream about what ride line I might be waiting on at Walt Disney World when I am at home in front of my computer thinking about my favorite Mouse’s House! Would you?
These look good
I have never been to Disney but it is on my bucket list. I will have to keep the app in mind when it comes to that time.
I cannot wait to go to Disney with my family and try out everything you mentioned here! I can’t wait to take my child to Disney.
