I attended last year’s 11th Annual Toilet Paper Wedding Dress Contest Presented by Cheap-Chic-Weddings and Charmin and was blown away. You can read all about in my article from 2015! I have posted a quick look at this years contestants up above so you can get an idea of how amazing they are!
This year I am writing to you on the day the finalists ware announced, so you can participate and vote in this years contest!
All dresses are made with Charmin toilet paper. You have to see it to believe it. I cannot imagine the amount of time and creativity needed to pull off any of these designs, but having seen them in person last year, I can tell you that each one is more fabulous than the next! The delicateness, the precision work, and the creativity all come together in designs that boggle the imagination. One example of what boggled the mind means, when it comes to creating a toilet paper wedding dress is, last year one of the contestants burnt some of the toilet paper to give it a darker tone. How did the whole dress not go up in flames? I use that example to give you an idea of the vast amount of creativity these folks come up with.
Here is a list of this year’s 10 finalists:
• Susan Brennan of Orchard Lake, MI (near Detroit)
• Frank Cazares of Cedar Park, TX
• Ronaldo Cruz of Chesapeake, VA
• Judith Henry of Woodland Hills, UT
• Augusto Manzanares of New York, NY
• Susan Masarek Wilson of Oaklyn, NJ
• Luis Razo of Chicago, IL
• Hannah Riley of Hernando, MS
• Van Tran of Brooklyn, NY
• Donna Pope Vincler of Brentwood, TN
First time ever they have 4 men in the top ten!
And your vote counts, you can pick your favorite, Voting is Now Live, Click Here!
Here are two of my favorites, but do not let me influence you!
Frank Cazares
Size of Dress: Bust- 39.5″, Waist-32″, Hips-41″, Height of model-5’10”
Name of Dress: Eden
“I was inspired by Hollywood glamour from the 1940s. I wanted to create a dress that exuded a luxurious elegant appearance. I envision my dress as an angel/bird of paradise that blossomed from the Garden of Eden. The bodice is made of over 1,500 various sized gem-like wads of toilet paper glazed in glue. The bottom texture is made from over 7,000 individually rolled sheets of toilet paper giving a feather like look. The half like sleeves are also made of the rolled toilet paper sheets sculpted to give an angel wing effect. The headpiece is an extension of the dress sculpted with a bird head nestled between the wing.”
Materials Used: 4 rolls of Gaffers Tape, 2 gallons of Elmers glue-all glue, Sakura pearl and gold plus taper ribbons to create an organic shape of loops.
29 rolls combined Ultra soft and strong.
Van Tran
Size of Dress: 4 34,26,35
Name of Dress: Winter Lust
“This is a Feather mermaid style dress with lots of glitter lace detail for an outdoor winter wedding with removable lace cape. The headpiece is elegant, back of head with roses and small veil.”
Materials Used: Hot glue, glitter glue, duct tape, thread
10 mega rolls of Ultra Strong.
I have many rolls of Charmin Ultra Strong toilet paper in my closet, and I would never think to use it in these amazingly complex ways!
The World Famous Toilet Paper Wedding Dress Contest Presented by Cheap Chic Weddings and Charmin started March 7, 2016 and will end at the live event in New York City at Haven Rooftop at the Sanctuary Hotel on June 16, 2016. The finale event will be broadcast live so you can watch it on the Cheap-Chic-Weddings.com site as it’s happening!
