I saw Deadpool, starring Mr. Ryan Reynolds, in the theater. I knew that whatever happened, I had to own it when it was released. I am hopefully receiving a free copy (disclosure) but if I do not, this is a must own movie, and I will happily pay for my own copy!
Ryan Reynolds was brilliantly funny on the movie. Did you know he originally went to Hollywood to do comedy? I was at an interview where he shared that info with us. Well, he is clearly hugely talented in that area, this movie was fantastically funny, hence one of the highest grossing “R” movies!
Hold onto your chimichangas, folks. From the studio that brought you all 3 Taken films comes DEADPOOL, the block-busting, fourth-wall-breaking masterpiece about Marvel Comics’ sexiest anti-hero: me! Go deep inside (I love that) my origin story…typical stuff…rogue experiment, accelerated healing powers, horrible disfigurement, red spandex, imminent revenge. Directed by overpaid tool Tim Miller, and starring God’s perfect idiot Ryan Reynolds, Ed Skrein, Morena Baccarin, T.J. Miller and Gina Carano, DEADPOOL is a giddy slice of awesomeness packed with more twists than my enemies’ intestines and more action than prom night. Amazeballs!
Deadpool becomes a superhero by accident. He is turned into a mutant in order to be controlled by the bad guys, but things went south for the bad guys and Deadpool goes out to save his girlfriend! Hilarity ensues as there are other mutants, good and bad, involved, and Ryan Reynolds special form of brilliant, brilliant sexual humor along the way. Even my spouse, who does not like anything and is a prude, loved it! It was violent and it was sexual. In fact, it was overtly sexual, but in a most hysterical manner. Almost X-rated in its humor and foul language.
Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, DEADPOOL tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.
DEADPOOL star and producer Ryan Reynolds has no bigger fan than Marvel Comics legend Stan Lee, who has a fun cameo in the film and also serves as an executive producer. “There’s never been a character like Deadpool, and Ryan Reynolds plays him as though he was born to play the role,” says Lee. “Just like Robert Downey, Jr. was born to be Iron Man, you just can’t picture anybody else besides Ryan as Deadpool.”
Reynolds embraced the character’s myriad (and often twisted) facets. “In the comic book world, Deadpool is a man of our time with the ability to spout just the right thing, in terms of a pop culture reference, at the worst possible moment,” he quips. “That’s what makes him interesting to me and also makes him sort of limitless.”
And for every movie review, I always say, the reason to won is for the extra bits. I have no doubt they are fantastic:
Lastly, I want to add that the advertisements that Ryan Reynolds did were ground breaking in his use of social media. He would do videos, as Deadpool, and talk about the nonsense going on in our own current events. It was a pleasure to see him raise the bar for the industry in promoting a movie!
But don’t believe me, check out what the awesome Betty White has to say about the movie!
