Stitchers Season 2 Premiere
The hit television series Stitchers, from Freeform, is set to return for season two on March 22, 2016.
As a huge fan of this Science Fiction drama, I am looking forward to seeing what season two will bring us. One of my favorite episodes from season one has been Stitchers the Halloween Special. Stitchers has everything I love in a television show – science fiction, an amazing cast and suspense!
Stitchers is a modern science fiction show. Modern because it could very well be present day, or as Producer Jeffrey Alan Schecter says, “10 Minutes Ahead.” Some of the technology could be in the works right now, or something very similar. This is also a suspenseful crime drama, and the cast is terrific!
Freeform’s first procedural drama, “Stitchers,” follows Kirsten, a young woman recruited into a covert government agency to be ‘stitched’ into the minds of the recently deceased, using their memories to investigate murders and decipher mysteries that otherwise would have gone to the grave. Working alongside Kirsten is Cameron, a brilliant neuroscientist whose passion for the program is evident in his work. The secret program is headed by Maggie, a skilled veteran of covert operations, and includes Linus, a socially immature bioelectrical engineer and communications technician. Kirsten’s roommate, Camille, a gifted computer science grad student, is also recruited to use her skills to assist Kirsten in her new role as a ‘stitcher.’
During an interview with the cast at NY Comic Con, a highlight of my blog career, I captured some exclusive photos including Jeffrey Alan Schecter, the brains of the operation! (the photo on the bottom right)
It was great to hear from Salli and Allison (Maggie and Camille) as they talked about having worked together when their SyFy series shows had cross over episodes! They already had a working relationship so when they found out they would be on Stichers together, they were excited to continue their professional relationship! Allison also has us in stitches (no pun intended!) as she related how she tried to prep Ritesh (Linus) for their steamy relationship on the show by getting him more comfortable for their initial make-out scenes!
Emma Ishta spoke to me about having gotten a call when she was in NY to come out and audition, as did Kyle Harris (Kirsten and Cameron) , and how that quickly turned into starring roles on this terrific show! I was excited to share with Emma, as I wrote in my first article, how wonderful I felt her acting was, acting without emotion cannot be easy, shutting down all emotions and behaving like a regular person at the same time! That is real talent.
I am looking forward to the new season, last we saw, Kyle was dead, but that could only be temporarily, so I cannot wait to tune in and see what is in store for the cast! I m going to go out on a limb and assume Kyle did not die since he was at the interviews, and that s what the coming attractions seem to suggest!
“Stitchers” is executive-produced by Jeffrey Alan Schechter (“Overruled!”), Jonathan Baruch and Rob Wolken. The series stars Emma Ishta as Kirsten Clark, Kyle Harris (“Carrie Diaries”) as Cameron Goodkin, Ritesh Rajan (upcoming “Jungle Book” feature) as Linus Ahluwalia, Salli Richardson-Whitfield (“Eureka,” “I Am Legend”) as Maggie Baptiste, and Allison Scagliotti (“Warehouse 13”) as Camille Engelson. And full time this season, Damon Dayoub as Detective Quincy Fisher!
Last time I highlighted the ladies of Stitchers,:
And now I get to showcase the guys!
I cannot thank the Freeform press folks enough for the opportunity to chat with the cast of one of my favorite TV shows. Everyone was fantastic and spoke very candidly about some fun stuff on set. I was a fan from day one, I knew this show had all the science and drama that I would want, and it does not disappoint. Join me and tune in for season two!
