Today is my 26th Sober Anniversary!
This is why I stopped drinking.
Because this is where I would have ended up!
One day at a time is manageable whereas not drinking for the rest of my life is impossible. One day at a time is a great mantra, not just an updated TV show. Works for everyone!
I did it with the help of a few 12 step programs. I found a Higher Power, I call him G-d. For those who have difficulties in using that, I say use whatever nickname you want, just use a Higher Power to ask for help, don’t do it alone. And sometimes that HP is inside of you!
The goal is for the cup to be half full everyday. Not half empty. But I would be lying if I did not admit I want it to be full and overflowing!
Congrats on 26 years! Quite an accomplishment from your inner HP. Oh and that duck looks awesome!
