This year I am separating the gift guide out by category. And for the sake of disclosure, many of these items are my favorites from having received and reviewed them earlier in the year. I was not under any obligation to include them in this guide, they are just stand-outs in my humble opinion, and must haves for everyone!
As always, this is instead of giving cash, my personal favorite, although there is a new gift card out there that comes close, and it is called Gyft Card. You can pick from over 200 gift cards, and they can be sent electronically, and they can be sent in seconds. This is the perfect last minute gift. It is also one of the most convenient ways to give a gift.
Electronics
1. Piper Security System – Nanny Cam? Spy Cam” Whatever you want to call it, it is perfect for your home. Easy set up, and you can see what is happening in any room in the house. Most recently I was at my son’s school for parent/teacher conferences while he was at home. Every now and again I made sure he was staying on task because I could check in on him visually, and talk to him through this device as well!
2. Lightning RIBBN Cable From TYLT – this is the phone charger that I keep in my car. Up until this point, I had to take my home charger and add it to the piece that fits in the car lighter. Tylt sent me an all in one piece for my iPhone 6, I keep it in the car so I do not have to worry if I ever run low on battery life while on a road trip!
3. Ventev Mobile Powercell 6000 – This is the most powerful charger I own. And as with the above, the connection to my iPhone 6 is part of the device so I can throw it in my pocket and have it ready as necessary. It saved me during the recent NYC Comic Con!
4. Xbox One – We do not own this. My son uses the Xbox 360. We have put off upgrading for awhile, but now it is time, now that he plays “T” games that require more gig space. The Xbox is my 12 year old son’s console of choice!
5. Video Games –
a. Destiny from Activision – I just write what my son likes. He has Destiny and Destiny: The Taken King. This is his top video game pic.
b. Disney Infinity – This is the year of Star Wars and this is the year that Disney 3.0 Star Wars arrived. last year 2.0 was Marvel. This is the second must have video game, Disney owns almost all the best characters, they are collectibles in their own right as well!
6. Groove Cube Mini Bluetooth Speaker from WowWee – The perfect Stocking Stuffer for this year! So perfect I am going to put it in the gift bags for the kids that attend my son’s Bar Mitzvah next year!
TOYS
1. The R2-D2™ INTERACTIVE ROBOTIC DROID – There are several toys in this category from Thinkway Toys, we have R2D2 and an At-At. These are fantastic must have toys for your kids of all ages! Again, especially because this is the year of Star Wars and these are affordable remote control Star Wars characters for your very own.
2. Frozen Ultimate Olaf from Just Play – Frozen is still HOT! Pun intended! We still watch the movie and we just returned from our end of Summer Walt Disney World vacation and sang through the Frozen sing-a-long twice. And it was only twice because my son wouldn’t let me go every hour! They are working on a second installment to the franchise, and the interest in Frozen is not letting up, I am completely on-board with that!
3. Stik-Bot from Zing Toys – Make your own animated movie! I write what I see, my son picked this item up and immediately went to work and created a masterpiece of stop action animation. And then we uploaded it and tagged it for all the world to see. This is a huge hit, and brings out our children’s creativity!
4. Mip from WowWee – Your very own robot, the fun never ends!
Nothing on this list is in any particular order. I have picked items that if we hadn’t been sent, we would have bought for ourselves. These are my top picks for this years perfect gifts for the December holidays!
