If you saw the first movie and that is why you did not see the second movie, I understand your reluctance and am here to tell you the two movies are nothing alike, this second installment is fantastic, highly entertaining, and provided us with many laughs.

The opening dance sequence where Channing Tatum does his dance routine in his garage is nice, but the first show stopper happens in the next dance set when the guys are at a gay bar with each doing their own “Paris is Burning” type vogue routine. I nearly died with hysterics. They were each more fabulous then the next!

This is a buddy movie. Granted, the buddy’s profession is stripping, but that does not detract from the fact that this movie is about a group of guys bonding and growing as people. A=The story is well done and you will be highly entertained throughout.

And then Michael Strahan does a cameo. I had intended on buying this DVD, just for that. I had no idea that sitting next to Kelly Ripa every morning on their show he had managed to stay as limber as he has. I stopped breathing during his routine, he was out of this world.

I wrote a movie review, I wrote a Blu-ray/DVD preview review, and now I have the Blu-ray and am telling you that it is worth every penny, not just for the extra bits, but because this movie is entertaining enough to see many times. And all the movie reviews I when the movie was first released all corroborate my opinion!

Joining the returning cast, in brand new roles, are Amber Heard (“The Rum Diary”), Donald Glover (TV’s “Community”), Stephen ‘tWitch’ Boss (“Step Up Revolution”) and Michael Strahan (TV’s “Live with Kelly and Michael”), with Andie MacDowell (“Footloose”), Elizabeth Banks (“The Hunger Games” franchise) and Jada Pinkett Smith (TV’s “Gotham”). Jada was awesome!

“Magic Mike XXL” is directed by Gregory Jacobs who served as a producer on “Magic Mike” as well as numerous other features in a long-running collaboration with Steven Soderbergh. The film is produced by Nick Wechsler, Gregory Jacobs, Channing Tatum and Reid Carolin, with a screenplay by Carolin. Steven Soderbergh, who directed the first film, served as executive producer.

“Magic Mike XXL” will be available on Blu-ray Combo Pack for $44.95, and includes the film in high definition on Blu-ray disc, a DVD and a digital version of the movie in Digital HD with UltraViolet. Fans can also own “Magic Mike XXL” via purchase from digital retailers.
