I love Halloween pranks! In previous years I have had mechanical toys greet my trick or treaters at the door to try to give them a little scare. It’s all about getting creative for the holiday, and to make it more fun for the kids so it is not just about collecting candy. Can you imagine ringing my door bell, having it open mysteriously (my spouse is hiding behind it and opening it), and then a huge RC spider starts heading towards you! I believe trick or treating should be fun for the one giving out the candy as well, sort of our payment!

My idea is to make just a couple of these and leave them near my door for the trick or treaters!I open my apartment door and ask the kids if they want to see what I did to the earlier trick or treaters! I tell them to behave or they will end up with their heads in a bottle! No, I would never do that, but the kids would get a kick out of the creativity involved, and hopefully talk about that one fun apartment they went to where the old guy at the door made a funny Halloween prank and then gave them their candy.
I just want to be the funghi that the kids remember!
