Never heard of a She Shed? It’s sort of like a man cave, but totally different. The idea is simple. Take an old shed and transform it into an oasis of relaxation and rejuvenation—a place where women can leave stress and responsibility at the door, if only for a few hours. She sheds are

Best Buy shares six “she shed” ideas for using technology to create the ultimate relaxation retreat, and even though I am not a “she,” I know I would still love number one, and all the mom bloggers and many other ladies would love this:

1.       Extend the Wi-Fi for endless entertainment:

This is my number one, my absolute priority.

I set the extender up in the house so I can live stream my movies, and have uninterrupted viewing. I want to watch my movie in peace, not your movie with all of your distractions.

Or maybe I want a minute to download a new book onto one of MY devices. Can I have five minutes to do that please? Not if someone is calling out to me for a glass of water because they are too lazy to get up and get it for themselves! Not that I would, but I do not have the time for that silly discussion for the umpteenth time.

My musical tastes are far different from everyone else in my family, aren’t yours? How often do you get to choose what music is playing all over the house? In your She Shed, no one decides what music to play but you! And of course if I am alone with my music I am going to start dancing! Without anyone telling me how my dancing is sooo last century. I may even refer to it later, to my friends, as my personal aerobics session!

I am on Facebook chatting with some old friends from High School. Can I have some time to do that without interruptions? You will get fed, no, you are not starving, I am in my She Shed and cannot be disturbed. Have a cracker in the meantime.

Perhaps I want to make a phone call without everyone yelling at me in the background. Although, don’t stop doing that when I am in the house, it sort of, kinda, makes me feel that I am the most valuable player in our home!

Lastly, I just want my choices. Not your choices. And not for the rest of my life, just maybe an hour or two a week? Can I have that alone time please? It is not too much to ask. That is what my She Shed is for, a little peace and quiet to do my own thing, all by myself. You know you have to be constantly connected via social media and your phone, well occasionally so do I, and I would like to do that right now for one hour. See you later!
