My son has read all the books in the Captain Underpants series. That is why I am so happy I was asked to host this giveaway and participate with our own copy as well! I distinctly remember when we read the first book years ago, telling my son not to ask his own school Principal if she was an underpants superhero like the Principal in this series! Additionally, we have read Dav Pilkey’s other series, the Ricky Ricotta stories when he visited various planets. He will always be one of our favorite kids authors!

When Dav Pilkey was a kid, he suffered from ADHD, dyslexia, and behavioral problems. Dav was so disruptive in class that his teachers made him sit out in the hall every day. Luckily, Dav loved to draw and make up stories, so he spent his time in the hallway creating his own original comic books.

In the second grade, Dav Pilkey created a comic book about a superhero named Captain Underpants. His teacher ripped it up and told him he couldn’t spend the rest of his life making silly books.

Fortunately, Dav was not a very good listener!
