“With the IMF disbanded, and Ethan (Tom Cruise) out in the cold, the team now faces off against a network of highly skilled special agents, the Syndicate. These highly trained operatives are hellbent on creating a new world order through an escalating series of terrorist attacks. Ethan gathers his team and joins forces with disavowed British agent Ilsa Faust (Rebecca Ferguson), who may or may not be a member of this rogue nation, as the group faces their most impossible mission yet.”
I was at the NY Premiere of this movie earlier in the week. I was in the 4th row as Tom Cruise came into the theater to humbly thank everyone who worked on the film. He was nine feet in front of me. I am a big fan of his work and was so thrilled to be that close to him that I may have let slip a slight expletive on my Periscope which I share here via Youtube:
The movie was incredible. Watching it in IMAX was also a fantastic experience. We all remarked that during the car/motorcycle chase scenes, it was just like when you play those video games where you sit in the cars and almost feel the road beneath your feet. That is how realistic the IMAX experience was!
When the IMF is disbanded, we don’t know what is to become of Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise)! He is a man on a mission that he cannot let go of, ever. He must see it through to completion, no matter what. And the writing is so well done that I became confused and wasn’t sure that Ethan was ot on a wild goose chase. Suffice it to say this next installment takes things to the next level of suspense! I did not know who worked for whom was betraying whom else!
Rebecca Ferguson was also wonderful as the female lead, Ilsa. You never knew if she was helping, hindering, or working her own agenda. That is one of the reasons this movie was so suspenseful and well acted! Everyone else did a top notch job as well, and even though he is a funny guy, even Simon Peg got serious for a bit!
I can’t give any spoilers, suffice it to say that my husband and I loved the movie, I can’t wait to go back when my son returns from camp, he will also love it!
Disclosure: We received tickets to the Premiere of this movie in IMAX. All opinions are 100% honest and out own.
