I have reviewed several products that I felt were worthy of extra mention in this Gay Father’s Day gift guide, and some that are just my favorite items! As a gay dad, if my son had his own money to buy me a present, I would be happy with any of these items. These recommendations are not in any particular order. And they are gay because they are from me, to me! Also, I hope everyone understands that the unspoken real #1 gift choice is cash!
1. Swash – For the man who likes his clothes clean and fresh for work! I reviewed this product as an Ambassador for Best Buy. You clean and refresh your clothes and save money on dry cleaning. my husband is one of that fall into the fastidious category. He prepares his work clothes for the week every Sunday eve, and he enjoys it! This is my top pick for the gay man in your life, the one who loves to care about his appearnace, the one who gets pleasure from cleaning his clothes and shining his shoes! The word “fastidious” comes to mind.
2. Philips Norelco SensoTouch 3D – I was sent this for a review a few years ago and it is all I use. This is on my list because it is the best electric shaver I have used and will continue to use. I need my skin smooth as a baby’s bottom, I need people to snap back their heads when they see my face in the streets
3. New Balance Sneakers – I am currently wearing the 587 because I found them on sale and stocked up. The 990 is also great, but more expensive, I stock up on those when there is a sale! Ever since I was told certain New Balance lines were for the larger, football type body, I have been a loyal fan. They said I have a football players build ( I assumed they meant this!)! That was all my ego needed to hear!
4. Ventev Battery Pack Recharger – This is the one I use on the road. I love that I can charge my iPad or iPhone and my son can charge his phone which he seems to need every hour!
5. LeSportsac – Everyone loves a good sac. My husband and I each have our own sac, his is army green and a little smaller than mine which is blue and larger. Get your minds out of the gutter! We carry asthma and allergy drugs wherever we go with our son, we are good gay dads, which means we are overprotective! We love these dark LeSportsac colors as they are very masculine. We love the LeSportsacs because it is strong and light. This is a great line of bags for men, extremely lightweight for carrying whatever you need for your day out o the town with supplies for your kid(s)!
In conclusion, we adopted our son at birth 12 years ago. We grew up in the 60’s and 70’s when gay was just becoming legal and accepted. It was the disco era, and no one was talking about the possibility of gay men having children. I am very grateful that American society has gotten to the point where it is allowed and accepted. Separately, my husband and I always wanted children. That was one of the strongest pieces of cement in our relationship in the beginning. This is as corny as it gets, but it is our truth in the deepest place in our hearts. Every single day that we wake up and there is someone to call us Dad is Father’s Day. Every day. That was and still is our dream. Any other type of gift is just an extra, our daily Father’s Day gift is our son!
Disclosure: Some of these items were sent to me for review over the course of the last several years. None of the items were sent for review for this gift guide which is my completely made up list. All opinions are always 100% my own and FABULOUS!

I love, love, love theses ideas! I have never heard of the Swash, but this is an awesome idea that I will definitely look into! I also had no idea about how great the New Balance sneakers are. My husband is that football build and is always looking for comfortable sneakers. However, what I enjoyed most about this post, was what you said about your son. In an age of commercialization, which can be fun, it’s nice to hear what really matters for Fathers Day! It really touched my heart!

Great article! It is funny and informative – (never heard of Swash) and it is good to hear from a guy what works for them. We don’t buy Fathers/Mothers day gifts for each other and also try to discourage the kids from spending their money on us. You are so right – the love in our family makes these days transcend gift giving.
