Why break tradition? I don’t know about you, but I was already eating off of dishes when I got married, I did not need a brand new set, and I didn’t need fancy china. What I would have loved would have been the less traditional gift of a large flat screen TV! I loved seeing this wedding registry opportunity as soon as I walked into my local Best Buy!
Today’s engaged couples know that experiences are more valuable than things, and they want their wedding registry to reflect that. They want the products that will help them build their lives together, by enabling everyday as well as special experiences. It’s not about registering for products; it’s about registering for the experience. My spouse and I have never chosen relaxing vacations. Ever. We would never go to a beach and relax. We love to have adventures and explore. I have described our trips as times when we are like opposite sides of a coin. You have to have both sides for it to work. That is one of the reasons we knew we were a good fit as a couple. Isn’t that important to know before you get married! I can’t think of anything more fun for the adventurous couple than some amazing GoPro items from Best Buy!
Other Best Buy Wedding Registry Examples:
– Register for game night! Break out your new TV and Xbox, take the chip-and-dip from your other registry out of the box, and have all your friends over for a dance party or a Call of Duty marathon. Make sure both spouses are on board with this one! I know a couple who met through gaming, a new Xbox One would have been the most perfect wedding present for them!
– Register for date night! Whip up something fancy with your Kitchen Aid mixer or slow cooker, and enjoy it together under the romantic light of your Philips Hue bulbs, with just the right mood music coming out of your Bluetooth speakers. Then curl up together with a movie you can both agree on. And enjoy coffee from your new Keurig, this is a must have for all new couples! And a brand new soda stream! Different coffees and different seltzer flavors for each spouse!
And the best part of Best Buy’s wedding registry? That Group Gifting allows couples to ask for what they really want, without asking their guests to spend more than they are comfortable with—so they can dream big. I would rather have several guests “chip in” for the next new TV on the market, then an older, smaller, almost out of date item!
My husband and I got married three years ago in my Rabbi’s office. It was legal only in our state, so for legal purposes, it was not recognized on the federal level. Now it is recognized federally but there is still one Supreme Court case pending, with an opinion due in June, to make our union on par with every other married person in America. I thought two things – one, combine the full certification of our marriage with my spouse’s 50th birthday (I already got him the Swash for his birthday!) with a real wedding celebration, and I happily invite our guests to use the Group Gifting capability to chip in for something like this:

Oh if we could go back in time! We celebrate 19 years in a few weeks and still to this day have Wimbledon-esqe platters that are so gaudy and not useful but we hate to toss because great aunt Mary gifted them to us!
Those are some great ideas! A new TV or camera for a wedding gift would be awesome!
good ideas. and yes, most couples do live together first….times do change.
If I could I would have registered at Best Buy! I love the idea of this! And a electronics gal! I love all the gadgets!
Why didn’t I know you could register at Best Buy when you get married? I would have loved the date night type registry.
This sounds so neat .I wish I could do it.
