Remove From Play Testing is leading a change in sports injury protocols across North America. The King-Devick Test from RFP Testing provides a safer sporting environment for teams with quick and accurate concussion screening that determines whether or not to remove from play. The test can be administered by parents and coaches in minutes. The test is an accurate and reliable method for identifying athletes with head trauma and has particular relevance to: football, hockey, soccer, basketball, lacrosse, rugby, baseball, softball, cheerleading, and all other contact and collision activities. This program was created by Charlie Felker and Don Carducci, two West Point graduates and combat veterans that conducted seven tours to Iraq and Afghanistan. As the mom of a West Point Cadet, They are currently working to change the lives of millions of young people.
Maria Bailey’s a digital toolkit, The RFP Team Mom Playbook, which will equip any mom and dad with information about RFP Testing and tips on how to get this test for your child’s school and club sports. I encourage you all to download and share this information within your communities.
It is a very simple test that should be available at every school and on hand for every coach when anyone is practicing/playing contact sports. It has become increasingly important for everyone to be able to prevent athletes with head/body injuries from continuing to play for two reasons, one, their injuries can get far worse, and two, they may already need a doctor’s care and not know it.
The RFP Team Mom Playbook (also works for dads!) is a great way for you to get to know what this program is about, and why it works. It is important for this message to get shared everywhere so this information is with every team in America and the world, because we want to keep all out athletes as safe as possible!
See how it works!

Hey Lissa,
Thank you for downloading information about the King-Devick test. We hope that this movement gets more and more schools and organizations to adopt this testing method as their go-to method for screening/testing for concussions.
Let us know if you have any questions or comments.
Thank you
This is great – sports injuries are so common and it’s not always obvious in the moment when something serious like a concussion has occurred. Very important to have screening like this to help coaches and parents recognize the signs! Thanks for sharing this!

What a great message. Threre are always sports injuries – it’s just the name of the game, but I can see how this can help.
I think this is SO important. Half the reason our players are so seriously injured is because coaches keep them playing after they’re already clearly compromised.
I am so glad to see that light is finally being brought to this issue. While sports can be great for development, it is NOT worth it if they are going to cause permanent injuries.
As a mom of an athlete I really needed to read this. I myself am guilty of doing the whole “Get up and shake it off” thing that goes with sports. I’ll be looking at things more carefully in the future and encouraging my son’s coaches to do the same.
Hey Jeannette,
The best part about the program is that it allows for coaches and parents to administer the test as long as they pay attention to the guidelines. This allows for a greater number of athletes to be tested correctly and make way for the decision to Remove From Play to test further.
