I had the pleasure of attending an event talking about getting kids up and out to “Play-On!” with one of my favorite talk show hosts, Tamera Mowry, and Band-Aid and Kaboom!
By way of disclosure, I have already written about being a helicopter parent. Because of my son’s various allergies, my spouse and I both have a separate bag pre-packed with anything we feel he might need when we are out on the streets, and for when we go on vacation. Each bag also has a variety of Band-Aids in various shapes and sizes, and of course Neosporin anti-septic. You know I am one of those playground parents who is always supplying some other parent with a Band-Aid when a child gets a cut or bruise! Some say I am over prepared, I say nay, you can never be over prepared when it comes kids!
Kaboom was also sponsoring the event: “KaBOOM! is a national non-profit dedicated to giving all kids the childhood they deserve, filled with balanced and active play, so they can thrive.” Check out their website for more info! It is yet another great reminder to get kids out and playing. I am very lucky that I live in a community with a lot of playgrounds. My son has recently become old enough to go out by himself, literally in the last month, and he goes out for hours with his basketball and finds friends in the neighborhood to play with. I am grateful for his new freedom happening as the weather warms up and that he is choosing to go out and play instead of staying at home and playing video games (not that I would allow it, but the arguing could go on for 1/2 a day!).
And I got to take some Band-Aid brand goodies home with me!
And of course, Miss Tamera Mowry and I were chatting about her show, The Real!
Disclosure: I received a gift bag for attending the event. All opinions are always 100% honest and my own.

In my grandkids Easter Basket I put some band aids I got strange looks from the cashier when I said what I wanted it for.
