Can you spot the evil Loki? The horrible Ronan? And all the pirates that came ready to destroy our Disney party fun?
Turns out, it just took a little rainbow cake to turn the tide against these evil doers!
We threw our annual #DisneySide party a few days ago and as always it was a smashing success! This years theme was Villains and Villainess’s. We always combine forces, as NYC apartments are barely big enough to host a dozen tweens, so we combine forces with NYCSingleMom! So I cannot take credit, the above cake was made by my blog partner, Linda and her daughter.
The tweens loved showing their Disney Side! The pirates happily fought against each other and the other evil Villains! Thankfully Baymax had arrived two days earlier so we calmed everyone down with a viewing of the newly released DVD, Big Hero 6. If you haven’t heard of it, it just won the Academy Award!
My Disney Side:
I enjoy throwing these parties so that we can all step out of the daily grind and remind ourselves of the magic of Disney. All my blog readers know I have been on several Disney Parks media trips, but what you might not have realized is, that for the last two summers, we have chosen to spend our vacation time and money at Walt Disney World. One year we spent 10 days and last year we spent eight days. I take loads of pictures that remind me of my Disney Side all year long, and then I get to show you throughout the year when I do my Disney Wordless Wednesday pictorials!
And we all get in the act. My son had a geodesic dome science project to do this year and after we spread a few of them out to dry, and without knowing it 3 of them ended up forming a Hidden Mickey! This even made the school science project more palatable! This has become a pastime of ours, what started as a fun game in the Disney Parks, is now a Disney Side reminder: you would not believe the places we find Hidden Mickeys in NYC!
I would love to hear about your Disney Side in the comments (see the Disney Parks Disney Side website for further information, and also DisneySideCelebrations.com). For me it is simple, it is memories. My family always has a wonderful time when we vacation at the parks and I take a lot of pictures. We always end up on new and different adventures. Seeing our pictures throughout the year, reliving fun moments, and laughing at my silly character photos keeps the magic alive in that space in between trips.
Disclosure: We received some promotional items to assist us in the hosting of this party. All opinions are always 100% honest and our own.

The party looks like fun & tell Linda the cake looks great!
I enjoy reading your Disney Parks posts because we are planning on taking 2 of our granddaughters to WDW in 2016.

This is a great idea to “cheer up” the kiddo’s and their friends who have been stuck inside because of this freezing winter we have been having! We just got our DVD too and I think I will plan a get together like this for next weekend!
