For sake of full disclosure, I invested in my first Dyson vacuum over 10 years ago when I was a new parent. I say investment because Dyson machines are not the cheap $100 vacuums that are in the marketplace. They cost more, and I was more than happy to pay more, to know I was keeping as clean a house as possible for my infant son. There were some dust allergies at the time and I wanted a machine that was super powerful, and this was the company that my friend Ann recommended! I remember that because I would think of her every time I vacuumed, our sons were in pre-K together!

It is winter time here in NYC. It is often too cold to have a window open and we have dry heat, so there is extra dirt circulating . Even with two different allergy pils I sneeze through the winter. This incredible new Dyson has already been helping me to keep a cleaner home with less dust particles. Additionally, we are required to have 80% of our floors covered in rugs and carpeting. And with a very active and artful son, the dirt never stops!

And lucky me, I always pick colors for the rugs that show the dirt! I know when the house needs a cleaning, there is no hiding it. I may or may not be alone in this, but when I swipe that vacuum down the corridor and see dirt ahead of me, and watch it disappear, I get a little thrill. If for no other reason than I will at least get credit from my spouse for having done something in the house! Seriously, we all know that great feeling when there are no more specs to be seen on the floor.

Also, it is possible I am the tiniest bit lazy. Probably not, but I am still thrilled that one extra cleaning step has been taken away from us with the this great new feature: with the Dyson Cinetic Big Ball Animal + Allergy, I no longer have a filter to clean! And after 14 years of HEPA filter searches, because we were told after 9/11 in NYC that HEPA is a must, this gives me an extra sense of relief, because the whole system is HEPA!

Lastly, this is the first time I have had a vacuum with an easy way to store all the extra attachments (and directions, I always save those!).
