“The Fosters is a compelling, one-hour drama about a multi-ethnic family mix of foster and biological kids being raised by two moms. Stef Foster, a dedicated police officer, and her partner Lena Adams, a school vice principal, have built a close-knit, loving family with Stef’s biological son from a previous marriage, Brandon, and their adopted twins, Mariana and Jesus. Their lives are disrupted in unexpected ways when Lena meets Callie, a hardened teen with an abusive past who has spent her life in and out of foster homes. Lena and Stef welcome Callie and her brother, Jude, into their home thinking it’s just for a few weeks, until a more permanent placement can be found. But life has something else in store for the Fosters.”
I was invited to meet and chat with the actors from several ABC Family shows in December. I quickly caught up with the premise for the Fosters and fell in love. Firstly, any show that highlights a family with same sex parents, helps me to show my son that we are a part of the fabric of American family life. Additionally, it deals with adoption, another issue super important to us. I met some of the cast and let them know how their show helped my family.
And I then proceeded to binge watch the show! It started with one Netflix episode viewed at the gym and then I was done with two years of episodes in one week. Upset of course that there were no more!
So I will be watching tomorrow night as the winter premiere episode airs at 8 pm EST on the ABC Family channel!
And it wouldn’t be a post by me if I didn’t include my celeb pics: Maia Mitchell (Callie Quinn Jacob), Cierra Ramirez (Mariana Adams Foster), and David Lambert (Brandon Foster).
