Abrams Books and Cartoon Network Enterprises published the official, behind-the-scenes look at the making of the top-rated animated show Adventure Time: The Art of Ooo.
This is the first book to take fans behind the scenes of Finn the Human’s and Jake the Dog’s adventures in the post-apocalyptic, magical land of Ooo. Did I mention that this is an Emmy Award winning show? Concept art, storyboards, amazing illustrations all come together to show how the amazing series came to life.
I saw this item at Comic Con and I begged for a review copy. You have seen me write numerous times about how we love this show. We actually enjoy many shows on Cartoon Network, but this one stands out because, in addition to the fact that my son loves the show, my spouse, a Wall Street Regulator, also finds the show fascinating. And very little impresses him, so I know this is the real deal!
And my son is an artist. Another thing that you have seen me write about countless times. He loves looking at how the drawings start out before they become the full fledged art we see on TV! He has many sketch pads and I can see that this will be an inspiring book to help him take his drawings to the next level.
There are also many interviews in the book. From the series creator to the producer to the artists, they are all here. And many of the actors who voice the characters in the show, are interviewed in the book: Finn, Jake, Marcelline, and The Ice King. Tom Kenny is the Ice King! And I met him!
You may know him from another famous show on another channel, google it!
This book is gorgeous and the perfect holiday gift this year. For more information, please visit the publisher, Abrams Books.
Disclosure: We received this book for review. We love it. That is our 100% honest opinion.
