From the creators of the global hit Merlin and BAFTA award-winning series Misfits, Atlantis is a fantastical mix of legend and history that brings to life the vast store of Greek myths and re-imagines them for a new generation. Atlantis follows the adventures of Jason (Jack Donnelly, Dancing on the Edge), Hercules (Mark Addy, Game of Thrones) and Pythagoras (Robert Emms, War Horse), who battle against some of the most famous names of Greek legend, often in unexpected guises. Also returning to the series are Sarah Parish (Hatfields & McCoys) as Pasiphae, Aiysha Hart (Honour) as Ariadne and Juliet Stevenson (The Hour) as The Oracle. New additions to the cast include Vincent Regan (Strike Back) as Dion and Amy Manson (Being Human) as Medea, with guest appearances to be made by Robert Pugh (Game of Thrones) and Peter de Jersey (Broadchurch) in episode one.
We love Mark Addy from Still Standing with Jami Gertz! I love Jack Donnelly as Jason because he is adorable! I will miss Jemima Rooper as Medusa from Season 1. I had first seen her in another British supernatural series, Hex, which was fantastic.
I watched the entire season one last year and loved it. I love how the mythology that we know is mixed into a TV show, and we get to watch the history of it unfold for the unwitting Jason. Now that my beloved Doctor Who is done for the season, I am glad I now have Atlantis back for season two!
Atlantis returns Saturday, November 15, 9:00pm ET as part of the Supernatural Saturday block.
