What do you do when you have a cranky child and they are past due for getting fed? Did I mention you are at Downtown Disney and it is packed and tables without a reservation could take up to 1 hour to attain? I am talking Downtown Disney at Disneyland and Walt Disney World because this has happened to us at both!
Last year we stayed at the Saratoga Springs which was a quick boat ride away from Downtown Disney in Walt Disney World. We waited over 1/2 an hour for a table at the Rain Forest Cafe and were thrilled that we were able to get a seat even if it was at the side of the restaurant outside with the bugs. We were hungry!
Our waiter talked us into getting a Landry’s Select Card so that the next time there would be almost no wait. There would also be discounts (I perked right up!) and other amenities. And the card could be used at many different restaurants.
The card cost $25 and I decided to go for it as I knew we would have 1 more dinner and be able to use our $25 signing bonus. Starting out at a break even was perfect for this thrifty dad. I also did not want to wait for a table the next time!
This year we stayed at the Old Key West resort at Walt Disney World, again, just a short boat ride away from Downtown Disney. We ate at a different Landry’s restaurant, T-Rex. Same good food, same jumping to the front of the line. And we are still getting 1 point for every dollar spent.
So then 3 days later we ate at the Rainforest Café at the Animal Kingdom, and got our $25 off for having over 250 points! love this chain!
Having a card that gets me almost immediate seating is a fantastic help as we are generally too busy and excited in any Disney Park to plan dinners. That we earn 10% back on our meals is an added bonus, and the Volcano dessert (which my son lets me split with him) is just the icing on the cake!
This is not a sponsored post, I just wanted to share with you how much it helps us on our Disney trips!
For more information check out the Landry’s website! You can also peruse the other restaurant chains that this card will work in!
I really enjoyed this post as I don’t go to Disney that often and appreciate knowing what can be done to help save money, time and enjoy myself more while at the park. Loved your picture of your son and what a great memory maker that cake is for him and his parents.
This is helpful to know
Landry’s has some cool looking restaurants for sure! We stepped into T-Rex to check it out when we were visiting. I thought it was very cool. I didn’t know they had a line jumping card. I’d buy that too!
