I am not electronically inclined so I was not looking forward to setting up this, or any device. I opened the box and right away I got nervous when it said connect the device to your router.
Turns out there are 3 electronic connecting devices on my work desk which is where my wireless and other computer access comes from. I just turned them around until I found the slot that fit the device. It was very easy, and that is the first reason why I would say this is the device for me. I do not like complicated, I have actually turned down reviews before that were too complicated. That is why my reviews are 100% honest when I say, “This device was easy to set up!” Otherwise you know I won’t review it!
I felt like the living room area was the least intrusive spot to put the device. I live in a fairly safe apartment complex and do not expect that I will be robbed, but I can see at some point I can be out of the house and see my son has been on his Xbox far later than he is supposed to. My spouse is not got at telling him when to get off, that is my job. This device will help me at that job. I can be at an evening blog event and call home and tell them to shut it all down! And they will never know how I know what is going on! One parent has to have everyone thinking they have eyes in the back of their heads!
And there is my father-in-law. I called my husband and asked him did he know his parents were coming in one day early. He said yes, they had called him. Well, no one told me! But I knew! My spouse still does not know how I knew! And they never noticed the cam which you can see is partially hidden by a stuffed Mickey Mouse!
Lastly, what I also liked was the night vision. I was not paying attention and would look at the camera at night and see everything had gotten darker. It does say right on the box that this works at night. The lights were out in the living room but it was not pitch black so you could still see if there was movement or a person.

I have heard great things about d-link home cams. I am looking for a good quality video and audio monitor for my baby cam.
I would love to get a security camera for outside our home, but I am not sure what one to get and hooking it up seems so intense and hard. I would just like to be able to look on the camera & see who is out and about than to have to open a door and look out so all can see you. The things that I do see from our bedroom window at weird hours of the night are scary enough. But that is why I would like to have the security camera. Any suggestions from anyone is greatly appreciated.
