This is a compensated post for Popsicle. And for the sake of true disclosure, the above 2 boxes were in my freezer before I was approached to work with the brand. I have said it almost a million times, I love the opportunities I receive in the blog world to work with companies that I already love, and who’s products are already in my home. The words flow much easier that way, after we finish eating our Popsicles of course!

Yesterday Popsicle launched their new website, Rules For Being A Kid Guidebook, which coincided with the first day of Summer! As an aside, did you know the first day of Summer is the longest day of the year?

My favorite rule is the “Outside the Lines Rule.” And that works perfectly for us. I am the proud parent of a very artistic 11 year old boy. I have been telling him the lines are but a guide, not a rule. Now I can show him the rule is to draw outside the lines! He has always been that type of person, so perhaps that is why his artwork this year was the only one from his school entered into the citywide public school (all grades) competition! This is how my son approaches his art, creativity knows no bounds. Perhaps that is why we have every possible armament, uniform, and wallet that you can possibly make with duct tape! And don’t you remember all our kid’s art projects started out with Popsicle sticks when they were young!

My second favorite rule is the “Take the Plunge Rule.” I tell my son all the time, if I didn’t take the plunge with this blog, we wouldn’t have half the fun that we get to have! He agrees and I can only hope learns that taking the plunge is better for your life than always playing it safe.

    My favorite rule is Take the plunge rule. I often push my sons to try new things, though they may resist at first, many times they end up loving those things that they feared. This holds true for my sons joining the swimming team, going to school dances and joining some clubs at school.

    I like the rule about respect. I think that’s important at any age. I also really like the rule about not going around obstacles, go right over them! 🙂

    I know that I may be a tad too old for popsicles but seriously… those Sour Patch Kid’s popsicles are addicting! I bought a box for my daughter and consumed nearly half sitting in front of the TV watching Once Upon A Time… Bad mommy… badddd

    Ours would be Dream Like A Super Hero because both my kids think they are super heroes! they can do anything they want and they want Avengers Popsicles!

    We are a Popsicle family here, too, Mitch. We love the jokes!! We always send the Firecracker Popsicles in for birthday treats for the kids- they are allergy safe and no risk for any of their friends. 🙂

    I love the idea of taking the plunge. I tell the same thing to my boys – you don’t know until you try and the worst that will happen is that it won’t work out, but you don’t know that unless you do it!!

    I love these rules! The “Color Outside the Lines” rule is one that I like to encourage, too. And we’re always focusing on the “Be a Good Sibling” rule. They’re your friends for life, so I want to support that friendship early!

    I like your important rule. I am the mother to a artistic child and I am trying to teach her that whatever she thinks is art, is art. Even if others don’t like it doesn’t mean it’s not good, that’s just their opinion.

    I love the Chores Rule:Always have fun no matter what you’re doing! Turn chores into a friendly competition to see who can finish first! That would work well in my house!

    We’re big Popsicle fans in our house too, and it’s never shocking to open the freezer and find some. It is, however, shocking to find my favorite orange ones because everyone else loves that flavor too. -_- 😉

    I love the Playlist Rule, we love all kinds of music, and our daughter has followed that rule well. My Granddaughter is also learning this rule. Life without music is a silent life.
