Olympic star Mia Hamm was just named as Residence Inn’s Mom of the Year. I love that I get to go to these events and see people that I admire and visit gorgeous hotel spaces! Last year’s recipient was Chef Cat Cora. The awards are in May, the month of Mother’s Day, and the month that Residnce Inn has dubbed, Mom’s Month! Last year’s post is here.
Before I go any further, I want to share that being authentic is very important to me. I am not just sharing Residence Inn’s info on a lark, or because they fed me. A few years ago they flew me to Boston to stay on property. I was very impressed. Impressed enough to trust that booking the Residence Inn, Beverly Hills, was a great idea on my recent trip to Southern California. I knew I could rely on several things with this hotel chain:
1. A sizable room for all 3 of us to fit comfortably. We had a queen bed and Paulie had the fold out. Perfect.
2. A full kitchen. Refrigerator, stove, coffee maker, etc. And they will shop for you if you like!
3. A full and free breakfast buffet. This is a savings for my family of almost $50 a day. Vacation buffet breakfasts are a luxury for us that we love, we never know where our travels will land us during the day, so a big breakfast helps us to explore new lands without having to stop for lunch right away!
4. We could afford to stay in Beverly Hills, you know we walked to Rodeo Drive as soon as we unloaded our luggage!
I paid my own way, we were not sponsored, and neither is this post. This chain is one that I can rely on to take care of my family and me when we are out of town. This recent trip proved that.
And we toured the new Residence Inn property in NYC, the views were absolutely grand!
And of course, there is a great contest for you to enter on the Residence Inn Facebook page: the “Search for the Ultimate Soccer Mom,” where moms can enter themselves for a chance to win a trip for a family of four to Los Angeles to meet Mia.
I look forward to sharing more on this great hotel chain again, but in the meantime, here is my photo with World Class athlete, Mia Hamm!

You look like you are having fun and I love the pictures.
