The world’s premiere wrestling organization is presenting the 30th Wrestlemania show this weekend in New Orleans! It was a thrill to be at the press conference to hear about the show and some other initiatives that I will be sharing with you regarding the WWE!
This was the third event I have attended with the WWE in the last 2 weeks. As a fan for the last 40 years I was amazed to see how far they had come from the days of being broadcast on the obscure networks in the middle of the night.
Above is Stephanie McMahon, an executive at the WWE, daughter of Vince McMahon, the head of the WWE! When we met her she was explaining to the kids that this was entertainment and she was just playing the role of a bad guy. I thought this was a great introduction to the children to be made aware that they would be watching a show on the stage, not real villains.
Stephanie explained to the adults in attendance about all the charitable work that the WWE was involved in. Since Wrestlemania 30 is this weekend in New Orleans, I wanted to share the community activities they would be involved with there, many things that I had no idea their organization participated in:
1. Children s Hospital visits with several of the wrestlers. This will include giveaways of WWE action figures to the kids.
2. Autograph signing and meet and greet with the US military in the area.
3. Special Olympics Unified Basketball Game.
4. Be a STAR Anti -Bullying Rallies.
5. Wrestlemania Reading Celebration.
6. KaBOOM! Playground Build.
7. Make-a-Wish Pizza Party.
8. Susan G. Komen Luncheon.
I had no idea the WWE had so many charitable efforts going on, and what an amazing way to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the first Wrestlemnia than by leaving behind a legacy of community building in New Orleans. And most of these efforts are on-going with the organization, not just a one time publicity move to promote this weekend’s show.
The WWE also spoke about the launch of their own new network. We used to subscribe to the wrestling channel that our cable provider offered, but that ended recently. It ended because the WWE formed their own new subscription service! You can stream all the wrestling shows you want, all the time! For more information on ordering this new service, check it out at WWE.com!
Disclosure: I received no compensation for this post. I did receive complimentary tickets and attend a WWE Monday Night Raw show with my son last week. All opinions are always 100% honest and my own. My son and I were both awed by the group of folks we got to see in the Ring (photo courtesy of WWE):

Looks like you had fun

Looks like you had a great time!! My hubby has always been a wrestling fan and was so jealous when I got to meet Hulk Hogan at a conference earlier this year. He would have been even more jealous if I had been at this event!
