We were greeted at the entrance to SeaWorld by the above mascot, Pete Penguin.
There has been some recent controversy with SeaWorld and it’s various practices in acquiring some of the animals and fish in their exhibits and shows. I have not seen the movie that raised questions in people’s minds, but it is my understanding that the level of accountability by SeaWorld has increased and they have many initiatives to help marine animals wherever they have parks. Everyone has an opinion on the subject these days, but to me the over riding factor is that our children can be taught a love of marine life from visiting these parks and perhaps help to save our Oceans some day.
We had a great time in the parks and the kids loved the shows.
The kids were thrilled to pet dolphins:
Feed sea lions:
We saw all the shows and the kids enjoyed the rides:
We had an excellent time at SeaWorld San Diego, it was the other visit on our trip’s bucket list. And my son most loved the fish that kept eating the dead skin off of his hands!

Disclosure: We received complimentary tickets to the park. All opinions are always 100% honest and my own.

I have never seen the fish that eat off your dead skin at the Orlando one! The rides at the San Diego one look amazing. I heard of the controversial Black… something film I have yet to see it either. THough this one is way better than the Miami Seaquarium which it seems like the whales home are so small and not great for them, I think SeaWorld does a way better job!

I’ve seen the movie and it’s awful. While I respect Seaworld for drawing more attention to the marine world the larger marine mammals, ie, the whales they need to just stop having them perform and leave it be. That movie is eye opening but I feel awful for shamu and his pals.
