We all have our ickiest moments at home and I am finally go to break the ice and talk about the one that plagues us here too often: an overflowing toilet!
That’s pretty icky, right? I blame a certain Mayor who wanted to save water. While a noble idea, the backlash to this project was that many toilets do not have enough power! Also, if you are going to have to flush more than once it defeats the purpose of the program. I have to report that the low flow toilet, as a way to reduce water over usage, is a big NYC failure!
Thankfully we always have 2 things in our bathroom at all times to help us “wade” through the situation: Clorox spray bleach, and Clorox wipes. Ans yes, I buy my Clorox wipes by the truckload:
And now our son is old enough to join us in the fun! And fun it was that first hilarious time he was responsible for clogging the toilet. It was almost a right of passage in our home when our 10 year old joined the club, a mini hippopotamess! Now I understand why they make the one ply toilet tissue item!
Those are the everyday moments – true, spontaneous and imperfect. Also quite icky, but you have the choice to laugh or cry, I hope you will choose to laugh! Thankfully Clorox is here to help. Did I mention that my mother-in-law foretold this and told everyone to invest in Clorox years ago! She knows all!
Now it’s your turn to share your ickiest moment! Feel free to leave one in the comments and join in the other fun on April 9th when the famed Chicago improv troupe The Second City Communications joins Clorox to introduce the Clorox Ick awards on Wednesday, April 9 from 6-10 p.m. My birthday by the way, what an icky way to celebrate!
The Second City Communications group will be turning your ickies into skits! This will be the ickiest and funniest twitter party you will ever attend, and while you Second City is turning your tweets into skits, you can vote for your favorites and compete for $2500 in prizes!

Tune in to the first hour (6-7 pm) to see if it is featured in the opening number. There will be a surprise celebrity guest at that time, and you know I tried to take a picture with them!
Lastly, don’t forget to visit the and sign up for Clorox’s email newsletter to learn more about how Clorox can help you laugh through the mess. Because if you don’t laugh, you know you are going to want to cry, there is no in-between with these icky messes!

And don’t forget Clorox laundry products! Food rarely goes straight from our forks into our mouths, the below products help us through those ickie moments when half our dinner lands on our shirts!
Clorex is the best! Honestly I am such a clean freak and use it all the time!
Ugh, we have the same toilet issue here in our house, but usually it’t because of a certain six year old who uses way too much TP sometimes. Ew.
Clogged toilets sure are icky! I have to tell you that I am a serious Clorox Wipe addict, I literally order it by the case load. Seriously!
I buy Clorox wipes in bulk monthly. I use them for just about everything, even giving my bathtub a quick wipe down in between cleaning days!
We have lots of pets so our ice moments are often pet-related. It’s nice to have something that really gets rid of the germs!
Clorox powered items are of use in my house. When Beau was a baby, he pooped in the bathtub. Almost died right there..
hey, my 6 year old clogged a toilet at Target once.
he was 4.
we’re so proud.
Ick moments..probably involve the kiddos and the poo. Likely adding in the bathtub. Ick!
Our house is really old, and sometimes when we use the washer the draining water from it floods the pipes so bad that water comes out of the drain in the kitchen sink, the bathtub, and the toilet. Needless to say, it’s always DISGUSTING.
Well, my last ick moment was just a couple of nights ago, when my oldest threw up in her bed. That was not fun to clean up!
Oh boy..clogged toilets are yucky! We use Clorox wipes all the time!
Grandkids before they go home give me ickys by leaving sticky food on table
Yes–definitely an icky moment! Thanks for the reminder about the laundry products. Clorox 2 is one of the best stain-treating products out there, and I always forget about it.
Clorox is definitely a staple in our house. With 2 kids and 1 on the way I have to keep the house clean and sanitized and Clorox always comes to my rescue!
I wont even tell you what the guest bathroom looked like before I cleaned it this morning. On the bright side I had tons of Clorox wipes on hand!
When my grandkids come over they usually get sticky stuff on the doorknobs and furniture. I have to do a thorough cleaning when they leave.
I think the low flow toilet isn’t just an NYC failure. That’s a universal failure! It would be so interesting to hear the runners-up for the icky awards!
We use Clorox for the icky laundry that needs a bit of help getting clean. it’s a brand my parents always had. They are well trusted for us.
Well, I sure have my own icky moment as well. I’m thankful that we can use many products to deal with it such as Clorox cleaning agent. 🙂
Ick! I know with all the messes we have in our house, they are just not fun to clean up! I know just what you mean.
Yep, that water-saving attempt would be a huge failure in our house too, I’m afraid.
Clorox wipes though, are the BEST. My son’s teacher always asks parents to send some in to class, and when it’s our turn, I always pick up a canister for our home too.
lol at your photo opp. mention. You do get the best celeb. pics!!
Big fan of Clorox products! We use the wipes all the time!
We always have clorox wipes in the house! It is so handy with a toddler running around!
Well I am a slob and so is my daughter so we have a lot of Ick moments in this messy house
LOVE the wipes! They are great for avoiding the ickies! 🙂
Clorox can be found in my house all the time! I am a huge fan of their products!
I seriously don’t know what I’d do without my Clorox wipes. I buy them in bulk when I can and have a container in every room in my house, even have some out in my car. I’ve got messy kids, and a messy husband.
Been there totally. And i always use my Clorox wipes to clean it all up. I also have a six year old who hasn’t quite mastered target practice, so there’s always that to clean off the toilet tank as well!
This sounds hilarious and I bet it’d be a blast to watch all the skits!
The Clorox wipes are a favorite in our household. We have them in the kitchen, the bathrooms, and even in the car.
I cant live without my Corox laundry items.. because with a 13 hello stinky socks and tees.. teen B.O. is the worst.
It’s true – everyday moments can be icky but it’s the spontaneity & imperfect-ness of them that makes them special.
I don’t normally buy bleach but I LOVE the Clorox wipes. They are handy to keep in the kitchen and bathroom.
No matter if some onne searches for his essential thing, therefore
